Yichun Style 3: Turning into a Zen Temple

Yichun style: transforming into a Zen temple.

Yichun is a famous Zen shrine. In the history of Buddhism, the epoch-making' Mazu's Dojo Building' and' Baizhangli Minggui' both took place in Yichun. Master Yicheng, president of the Buddhist Association, and Master Xingyun of Taiwan Province Province came to Yichun to seek ancestors. And there is an inscription "The moon shines in Yichun; Zen is a blessed land "and" Zen Capital Yichun ".

Huacheng Temple is located in the north bank of Jiang Xiu River in the center of Yichun. There are many famous monks in the world. Chenghua Rock Mountain, where Chenghua Temple is located, rises from the flat land on the bank of the river, with an altitude of 163 meters, caves and grotesque rocks, forming its own rock valley. Known as "a scenic spot in the south of the Yangtze River" and "a natural picture scroll". Chenghua Temple was built on the mountainside of rock formation. Formerly known as a complex of two Buddhist temples, the upper rock is called Hua Kai Courtyard and the lower rock is called Huizhaoyuan, which was built in the early Tang Dynasty and has a history of 1200 years.

Due to wars and natural disasters, this temple was destroyed many times. Hua Kai Courtyard was rebuilt in Jiading period of Southern Song Dynasty (1208— 1224). In the early years of Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty, monks tried to rebuild Buddhist temples. Li Fangchun, the magistrate, wrote: "Agree to award the prize", which means that everyone can jointly plan and help achieve the cause, so he simplified this four-word idiom to "Chenghua" and named the temple "Chenghua Temple" from then on.

Zhao, a poet in the Song Dynasty, said in a poem: "Monks live in the morning bell and dusk bell." Huacheng Temple, named "Flower City Night Bell", is one of the "Eight Scenes of Yichun" in ancient Yuanzhou.

When I was riding along Jiang Xiu at night, I passed in front of the temple. I was surprised by the downtown on a moonlit night and the solemnity and quietness of the yellow tiles on the Zhu wall. I went back to ask Du Niang, and then I used my holiday time to visit her three times.

The existing Chenghua Temple buildings should all be newly built. According to public information, in August, 1998, Yichun municipal government approved the reopening as a Zen temple. 1August, 999, the old hall of Huacheng Temple was demolished and a new five-story hall was built. From June 5438 to February 2000, Huacheng Temple was placed under the direct jurisdiction of Yichun Municipal Bureau of Ethnic and Religious Affairs. In 2004 1 month, with the strong support and funding of the municipal government and Mr. Yang Zhao, president of Hong Kong Rising Sun Group, the foundation stone laying ceremony of Daxiong Hall was held in Huacheng Temple.

Depreciation to build new buildings, temples were nationalized. As soon as you enter the mountain gate, you are greeted by "a solemn place, full of joy and affection". In ancient times, Buddhism, which didn't even interfere with the emperor and Lao Tzu, declared that "land is land, not land of kings." Solemn? Striking, that's for sure. With the propaganda "plaster" posted by Yichun Land and Resources Bureau, I conclude that Chenghua Temple is difficult to become a climate in Buddhism. Because I can't imagine how a monk passes by every day.

Compared with other famous Zen forests in Yichun, Huacheng Temple is really not displayed by Buddhism. But in the name of mankind, it is famous for its quiet mountains and forests. According to historical records, its diagenesis was the establishment of Yichun Houguo by Emperor Wu of Han Dynasty, and Liu, the third son of Changsha King, became one of the five high platforms built by Yichun Houguo. They are: Yichun Platform, xianrentai, Phoenix Terrace, Tiger Terrace and Huacheng Terrace. Chenghua is the place where Chenghua Temple is now located.

Historically, Li Deyu, the prime minister of the Tang Dynasty, once lived here when he was demoted as an official in Yuanzhou. Both Yi people and Huang Po have learned a lot from asking questions. Later, Zhao Lucheng became the first scholar in Jiangxi history. And left the name "this is the best in the world" in the history of literature. There are many stone carvings here, the most famous of which is "Li's Reading Room". Scholars in past dynasties have many poems. In the early Qing Dynasty, Shi, the guardian of Huxi Road, and Wu, the magistrate of Yuanzhou, also sang here.

The first time I went to Chenghua Temple, I went to Cliff Stone Carvings, but I didn't go to the "Li Reading Room", but I went to look for the stone carvings left by the famous anti-Japanese scholar Cheng. Xiaoxiang morning herald's special issue should be the 50th anniversary of the victory of the Anti-Japanese War. The special issue introduces the three major battles of Changsha, Hengyang and Changde in Hunan. Among them, the Battle of Changde was commanded by General Yu Chengwan, the 57th Division of the 74th Army of "Tiger Ben", who rejected 30,000 elite Japanese troops and Changde City with 8,000 men, and fought tens of thousands of troops on 12 until only 83 men remained. The special issue is illustrated with pictures and detailed historical facts. When I was studying, I was deeply shocked and moved by the heroic deeds of officers and men of the national army. From then on, I finally got rid of the propaganda poison of "Kuomintang does not resist Japan". I began to pay attention to understanding the true national anti-Japanese history.

"Eight Thousand Miles of Clouds and Moon" tells the story of "Man Jiang Hong" written by the famous anti-gold star Yue Fei. After the Battle of Shanggao in Jiangxi, the adjutant Zhong Shiying left it to Yu Chengwan. The stone carving and red paint are still bright, and the introduction on the side is new, which should be restored to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Anti-Japanese War. Garbage has been burned here before, so the rocks at the bottom of the stone carving are baked black.

General Yu Chengwan should be a man of temperament. In memory of the officers and men of the 57th Division who died in battle, Changde sent someone to lobby the famous novelist Zhang Henshui to create the book Long Live the Warrior. Sensational throughout the country, making the heroic performance of the 57th Division famous all over the world. It is a pity that such a generation of famous soldiers, after leaving the military and political circles to do business in Hong Kong, died under the indiscriminate guns of robbers and police. This is overwhelming.

Standing on the stone carving of General Yu Chengwan, we can see the beautiful scenery of Chenghua Temple, Jiang Xiu and Yichun City.

The newly-built Chenghua Temple building should be said to be extremely exquisite. The Shanmen Hall, the Tibetan Classics Pavilion and the Dharma Hall are all carved beams and painted buildings, which are very elegant. There are also reclining Buddha and eighteen arhats presented by Myanmar on the edge of cliff stone carvings, all of which are lifelike. Unfortunately, the beauty of the new building has lost the original flavor and vicissitudes of Gu Lou. There is also a lack of a heavy understanding of history.

So when I first went to play, I took a lot of photos besides being curious. The last two trips just turned into a quiet and beautiful environment of rocks. Just to kill time during the holidays.
