Modern historians and archaeologists mainly study Shang civilization from the accounts of Oracle Bone Inscriptions and Jinwen-the Shang history recorded in historical records, which is basically unreliable.

Theoretically speaking, the Shang Dynasty should also have a written carrier to record history. Regrettably, no official written carrier for recording the history of the Shang Dynasty has been found so far.

In other words, today's study of Shang civilization can only be carried out from the side through Oracle Bone Inscriptions and the inscriptions used for sacrifice, but it is impossible to obtain its own historical records.
