Now people only know the prosperity of this rural market, but few people know the origin and legend of steamed dumplings Gang, 9 kilometers southwest of Feixi County.

There is a red clay mountain near steamed dumplings Hill, which was called Lion Mountain in ancient times. This kind of mountain with red soil as the mountain body is relatively rare in the north of the Yangtze River, so it is called Hongshan.

According to legend, when Zhu Yuanzhang conquered the whole country, Liu Bowen made great contributions to the creation of Daming Mountain. The science champion, a scholar, is very particular about Feng Shui. One day, Liu Bowen visited Lion Mountain and found that there were two big piers at the northern end of Lion Mountain, one like a gong and the other like a drum. There is a small temple in the south of the dock, surrounded by big trees, which looks like hydrangea from a distance. Liu Bowen concluded that this was the place where Long Mai lived. According to geomantic omen, the deceased was buried in this living Longkou, and future generations had the status of emperor. In order to protect Zhujiajian from generation to generation, Liu Bowen thought hard, but could do nothing. In his dream, he suddenly heard a mountain saying, "I'm not afraid of digging, I'm afraid of picking, I'm afraid of children nailing me to my waist, and I'm even more afraid of fire burning all around." The next day, Liu Bowen ordered a boy (underage boy) to be nailed (buried) into the mountainside. Suddenly, the whole mountain was bleeding profusely, and the heaped-up mountains were all dyed red, and all over the mountains were deep red. At the same time, Liu Bowen ordered the burning of the vein around Lion Mountain, saying that Long Mai could be captured alive. Later, someone raised a market town in the place where the pulse was burned, named steamed dumplings Gang, which was passed down from generation to generation. This legend has been listed as a place name in the catalogue of Feixi County.

There is indeed an ancient temple in steamed dumplings Hill. According to Jiaqing's Hefei County Records, "Yingmaigangnan (near Kangwanwei today) has Yingyuan Temple built in the Yuan Dynasty." This small temple has been burning incense for hundreds of years, and it was not demolished until the mid-1950s. Whether Yingyuan Temple is the legendary small temple is similar in age and geographical location, but there is no direct connection, just a postscript.
