What is "prophecy"? What is a "prophet"? Why are there always "prophecies" and "prophets" in this world?

As the name implies, prophecy is a purely accidental event that determines the inevitable future. For example, I will have breakfast tomorrow. These are not prophecies, because they are autonomous plans. But I'm going to work by bus tomorrow, and my car will break down on the way. This is a prediction, because the car failure is not a plan, it is purely accidental.

Prediction is a bit like a test. A test is not a prediction, because the test does not need to be correct, but the prediction needs to be correct. Wrong is not a prediction, and occasionally right is not a prediction. The second guess can be regarded as prediction.

There are two kinds of prophets, one is myth and the other is veteran. The so-called myth means that you don't need to ask the origin, and you don't need to predict it out of thin air according to abstract laws, just like the Buddha knows the past life and the afterlife and divination. Senior one has mastered some deduction rules, collected a lot of information, and predicted a series of future events by analyzing the situation, which is highly consistent. For example, predict the number of gold medals of China team in the Olympic Games and its ranking in the Olympic gold medal list.

Everyone will think about the future and hope to grasp it. With the universal demand, the prophet came into being. I like divination, in fact, I want to get predictions, mythical predictions. Some people naturally want it, while others provide it.
