The taboo of Dongxiang nationality

(1) Avoid eating the meat of pigs, dogs, horses, donkeys, mules and fierce animals.

(2) Avoid eating animal carcasses and blood.

(3) Eat cakes and steamed bread.

(4) slaughter cattle, sheep and chickens.

(5) Avoid using non-Muslim cookers.

(6) Smoking and drinking are prohibited.

(7) It is forbidden for non-Muslims to scoop water into stoves and pump or pour water into wells.

2. Introduction of Dongxiang nationality:

Dongxiang nationality is a minority in Gansu Province, China. Its national language belongs to Mongolian family of Altai language family, and it has no own writing. Most Dongxiang people are familiar with Chinese, which is the common language of Dongxiang people and believes in Islam and Sunnis.

3. Main distribution areas:

Mainly living in the foothills west of Taohe River, east of Daxia River and south of Yellow River in Linxia Hui Autonomous Prefecture, Gansu Province.
