Jiang Yuan held the child tightly in her arms and took it home to raise it carefully. Because the child was abandoned many times, it was named abandoned child, and this abandoned child was the ancestor of Zhou people.

When Emperor Yao heard the story of abandoning his son, he became an agricultural teacher of the tribal alliance to guide everyone in agricultural production. Shun Di appointed him Hou Ji again. Therefore, people later called it Hou Ji, and people later called it Hou Ji, an agricultural official.

When Hou Ji's deeds were known to God, the Emperor called him to heaven and gave him immortal seeds, such as grains, vegetables and melon seeds, which were not found in the world, so that he could bring them back to earth for sowing. Since then, people all over the world no longer need to collect wild grains and fruits to satisfy their hunger.

After his death, in order to thank him for his merits, experts buried him in a place with mountains and waters and beautiful scenery, planted all kinds of grains, fruits and vegetables around him, sacrificed him and regarded him as a crop god.

He also became the patron saint of the farmers in the family.
