Confucianism advocates benevolence, righteousness, loyalty, courtesy, wisdom, faithfulness, filial piety, virtue and chastity, while Taoism advocates that Tao is invisible and omnipresent, and it is strengthened by softness.

There are differences between Taoism and Confucianism, and there are also many similarities. Taoism explains the universe more, advocating nature, inaction, invisibility, namelessness and emptiness, regarding Tao as the source of the world and taking virtue as the function of Tao. Tao nurtures all things without taking credit, such as loving mother and selflessness. Its great wisdom is clumsy, the elephant is invisible, and it is born, shaped and made by animals, which embodies the loftiness of Tao and respect for virtue. Confucianism is based on restraining people's behavior, words and deeds, and thoughts, and puts the power of rulers into practice through benevolence, righteousness, courtesy, wisdom and trust to realize their political ideals and ambitions. They regard the fundamental problem in politics as a moral problem, and govern it with morality, morality, benevolence and fraternity, which alleviates social contradictions to a certain extent, but governing the country requires the joint implementation of morality and compulsion.
