Xinliao Village is located in the north of Gurao Town. It was built in the Chongzhen period of the Ming Dynasty (1628 ~ 1644). Its ancestors came to Shibi Village to settle here, so it is called Xinliao Village. Settlements are huge, and most houses are bungalows with wooden structures coated with shells. There are 2230 people in the village, and the cultivated land area is 17.3 hectares (259 mu). Planting cash crops such as rice, sweet potatoes, peanuts, raw oranges, bananas and Chinese herbal medicines. Mountainous area 173.3 hectares (2,600 mu), where pineapples, lychees, olives, bayberry and firewood forests are planted; There are 1O many family workshops focusing on sideline production, medicinal materials and fruit processing, and there are l primary schools, covering an area of 667 square meters and a building area of 3 15 square meters. Guguan Road has a simple road connection and convenient transportation.

In recent years, Xinliao Village has devoted itself to the development of agriculture, industry and commerce around the new idea of "basing on agriculture and surpassing agriculture". In 2009, the per capita income of Xinliao Village was 4 150 yuan, the collective income was 50,000 yuan, and the market income was 40,000 yuan.

The scenic spot with Xinliao Temple as the main body was rated as the advanced unit of the Provincial Scenic Association and one of the first scenic spots in Shantou City.

Near Xinliao Village are the tombs of Zhang Kungang and his wife, Dafeng Scenic Area, Lotus Peak in Shantou, Red Square Revolutionary Martyrs Monument, Cai Chusheng's former residence and other tourist attractions.
