The incense in Yuantong Temple is ineffective.

The fragrance of Yuantong Temple is particularly spiritual.

Up to now, the most famous is Kunming Yuantong Temple, which was built in this era when Hinayana Buddhism prevailed. Due to the continuous expansion and maintenance in the later period, it has been integrated into Mahayana Buddhism and Lamaism in the Central Plains. Now it is a Buddhist temple with historical reference value in southwest China and even the whole country. The incense has a long history and has become an important place for Buddhism!

The architectural style of Yuantong Temple is quite garden style. The whole temple is built on the mountain, with its back against Tong Yuan. There is a pool of clear water in the middle, and on both sides of the pool are ancient Buddhist buildings, which are connected in series by waterside corridors. A China classical garden style suddenly appeared. There are several lotus flowers scattered in the pool. There is a rockery on one side of the pool, surrounded by important Buddhist temples, and an ancient and sacred bodhisattva, which is a holy place for Buddhist believers to worship.

The town hall of the temple consists of three Buddha statues in Tong Yuan Treasure Hall, which gathered and witnessed the Buddhist culture of the whole southwest region. These three Buddha statues are all from ancient Buddha statues such as Sakyamuni made in Yuan Dynasty. This temple was built in the Tang Dynasty, originally named "Butuo Temple", but it was destroyed by war when Kublai Khan conquered Yunnan in the early Yuan Dynasty. In the early Yuan Dynasty, Butuo Temple was rebuilt on the original site and renamed as "Yuantong Temple".
