Where is Zhao Zhouqiao?

Zhao Zhouqiao is located 2 kilometers south of Zhao County, Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province.

Zhao Zhouqiao, also known as Anji Bridge, spans the Weihe River over 37 meters wide. Because the bridge body is all made of big stones, the locals call it "Dashiqiao". Zhao Zhouqiao was built in Sui Dynasty, designed and built by famous designer Li Chun. It has a history of 1400 years. It is the second oldest single-hole open-shouldered stone arch bridge in the world, and it is also the most intact ancient stone arch bridge.

Therefore, it has the reputation of "the first bridge in the world", and the locals also call it "the Four Treasures of North China" with Cangzhou Iron Lion, Dingzhou Kaiyuan Temple Pagoda and Zhengding longxing temple Bodhisattva.

The origin of Zhao Zhouqiao's name

After the completion of Zhao Zhouqiao, it was originally named Zhaojun River Stone Bridge. Zhang Yu, secretary of Emperor Taizong of Tang Dynasty, wrote an inscription for Zhaozhou Dashiqiao in the 13th year of Kaiyuan (725): "The Zhaojun River Stone Bridge is also a trace of craftsmen in Sui Dynasty." It was named after the place name and water name at that time, and its first name was seen here.

Zhao Zhouqiao is named after a place name. Since Tianbao in the Northern Qi Dynasty (55 1), Yinzhou was changed to Zhaozhou, and the name of Zhaozhou began here. Forty years later, the Zhaojun River Stone Bridge was completed. In the second year of the Republic of China (19 13), Zhaozhou was renamed as Zhaoxian.

1 100 years, which lasted for the Sui, Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, during which Zhaojun, Luanzhou, Yinzhou, qingyuan prefecture (military), Wozhou and Yongan prefectures were set up, and only existed for 290 years.
