Sixian County is in Suzhou City, Anhui Province.

Sixian County, belonging to Suzhou City, Anhui Province, is located in the northeast of Anhui Province, bordering Sihong County, Jiangsu Province in the east, Lingbi County in the west, Wuhe County and Guzhen County in the south, and Suining County and Suqian City in Jiangsu Province in the north and northeast, with a total area of 1.857 square kilometers. Sixian, known as Hongxian and Sizhou in ancient times, has a long history. It was established as early as the Xia Dynasty. Originally the seat of Sizhou Prefecture, it was called Hongxiang and Sizhou in ancient times. It has a unique world cultural heritage, the "only" living site of the Sui and Tang Grand Canal, the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage, Sizhou Opera, the hometown of potatoes in China, Shilonghu National Wetland Park, medicinal cloth shoes in China, and "six business cards" in the revolutionary base area in northeast Anhui.

Sixian culture

Sizhou Opera. Sizhou Opera and Liuqin Opera, which spread in Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province, belong to the same kind of opera and are popular in Huaibei area. This drama originated in Haizhou, Jiangsu Province (now Donghai County, Jiangsu Province) and developed in Sizhou, Anhui Province, hence the name.

Yao opera. Yao opera, also known as dulcimer opera, is a unique kind of drama in Sixian County. The predecessor of Yao Opera is Quyi Qin Shu (commonly known as dulcimer or pendant). After the founding of New China, the county party committee and the county government organized artists to excavate and sort out plays and perform singing.

Drums. In the late Qing Dynasty, it spread from Shandong to the banks of Huaihe River, and the rap drum was popular in Sixian County. The rapper plays drums in his right hand and holds two crescent-shaped copper coins in his left hand. There are also a few who use clappers. They pay equal attention to self-talk and self-singing, and their vocals are mainly long historical romances and the legend of heroes, commonly known as "Knife and Horse Ci".
