Beautiful legends about Jiangnan

Sword of the yue maiden, the legend about it is very long, scattered in the official history and unofficial history. The earliest and most detailed record is the Spring and Autumn Annals of Wu and Yue written by Zhao Ye in the Eastern Han Dynasty. It is also recorded in the later Literary and Art Newspaper and the legendary swordsman, and it is also recorded in the novel The Romance of the Eastern Zhou Dynasty. If you have read all Jin Yong's 15 novels, you must remember the short story that Jin Yong didn't take to heart.

Yue Man Ge, which first appeared in Nineteen Ancient Poems, is said to be the earliest poem translated by China.

It is said that Yue Nv, who was boating on the Chu River, admired him and sang this song in Vietnamese. This Hubei gentleman asked someone to translate in Chu, which is what we saw today in the legendary era: "What is evening, what day is it today?" I want to help the prince in the same boat. I am ashamed, but I am not ashamed. I'm restless. I learned that the prince was in the same boat.

Completely different from sword of the yue maiden, this is a lonely love poem.

"There are trees on the mountain, and there are branches on the wood. I am happy with you, you don't know." Wood still knows (branches), but your heart is not as good as branches (knowledge).

It's a pity that this song was translated in Chu language, and it was infected with the style of Chu Ci. Otherwise, it will be more distinctive than it is now.

The First Temple in Jiangnan-Cao E's Injustice

Biography of Cao e

A long time ago, there was an unknown small fishing village at the foot of Fenghuang Mountain on the west bank of Gushun River in Shangyu. There is a fisherman named Cao in the village. He fishes along the river every day for 365 days a year. The fisherman has a daughter named Cao E who is 14 years old this year. She is as beautiful as a fairy, extremely intelligent, and is a famous filial daughter.

In the spring and summer of a year, there were continuous rainstorms on both sides of the strait, and floods along the river soared. Turbid waves rolled on the river, rolling up huge eddies and flooding the beach. Fishermen look forward to and are afraid of floods. There are many fish and shrimps in floods, but floods are dangerous. Cao E's father looked at the muddy river and couldn't help it any longer. There is a saying called "fish in troubled waters". This is the annual fishing season. How can we miss it? He tidied up his fishing net, propped up the boat and planned to go fishing in the river. Cao E looked at the sky and advised Dad not to go. Dad said that it is dangerous to catch fish every day. As long as you are careful, nothing will happen. When Cao E saw that her father insisted on going, she begged him to go with her, so at least she had a concern. Dad said that his daughter doesn't know water, and going there will give him trouble, and he will definitely not be allowed to go.

When dad left, Cao E was uneasy at home, always looking forward to it, hoping that dad would come home safely as soon as possible. In Japan and China, my father didn't come for dinner until the sun went down. She ran to the river bank again and again to see it, but she saw the endless river and set off layers of bad waves, but she didn't see her father's fishing boat. Cao E felt uneasy. She swam three miles along the river, turned around and swam another six miles, but she hasn't seen her father yet. The sun is about to set on the top of the mountain. Cao E is very anxious. She cries out in despair, "Hello, Dad. The shouts attracted several of her father's companions, whose clothes were soaked to the skin. Everyone sighed when they saw Cao E, saying that they were casting nets together. Suddenly, a big wave pushed her father's boat into the whirlpool and the water was washed away. Hearing this, Cao E was frightened out of her wits, shouted "Dad" and began to chase downstream.

It was getting dark, and several fishermen's uncles accompanied her, repeatedly urging her to go back first, saying that her father was a good swimmer, and I'm afraid he had gone ashore downstream and had a rest at someone else's house, and he would definitely help her get it back tomorrow. No one can stop Cao E from going back to see her father. All night, she cried back and forth by the river, and no villager didn't feel bad for her.

The next day, the villagers brought her food, but she didn't eat it. People searched for her along the river for three days, but her father was still missing. Cao E cried along the river for three days, and her tears dried up. The villagers tried to persuade her to go home. Cao E said, I won't go home until I find my father. She doesn't eat or sleep. She cried by the river for seven days and nights, and her eyes were full of blood.

On the eighth day, Cao E looked at the river and suddenly saw a big wave holding up a mass of black stuff, as if her father was fighting with the water. Cao E was pleasantly surprised. Sure enough, dad is good at swimming. She wants to save dad and help him swim up. She let out a cry and jumped into the river.

"Cao E jumped into the river-"People rushed to the rescue. But when I saw the river surging, I couldn't see Cao E's shadow.

"Oh, my God! Why do good people suffer such bad luck? " Tears welled up in people's eyes, and they complained about God around the levee.

Whether they are close or not, the villagers can't bear to let Cao E's father and daughter die at the bottom of the water and look for their bodies along the river separately.

After another three days, the river was calm and crystal clear, but people saw a river hovering in the river more than ten miles downstream, vaguely as if someone was swimming. People rushed there hopefully, and found a man and a woman, back to back, with the woman's hands tightly holding the man. It turned out to be Cao E and her father. Although Cao E died, she found her father's body and took him to the river. People say that it was her filial piety that touched the sky. Later, the place where Cao E's father surfaced was called Riverside Village.

Cao E's filial piety touched the sky and even the villagers around him. They buried Cao E's father and daughter, built a temple by the river where Cao E dived to save her father, made a statue for her, honored her as "the goddess of filial piety", named the fishing village Cao E Village, and renamed the river Cao E River. On the day Cao E saved his father, a grand temple fair was held in Cao E Temple, and all provinces and governments came to worship Cao E's filial piety. Many people wrote inscriptions and sent plaques to praise Cao E's filial piety.

Until now, Cao Ejiang, regardless of the rapid tide, roared and roared. As soon as it arrived at the gate of Cao 'e Temple, it immediately became silent, as if it had failed its filial daughter. It was a miracle that it dared to make trouble again after the gate of Cao 'e Temple.

The legend of Cao e's injustice

Earlier, Cao E Temple was very small, and there was only one goddess Cao E in the temple.

One day, someone was hiding under the shrine of Empress Cao E, and heard the footsteps coming from outside. He was so scared that he made many wishes and told me, "Empress and Bodhisattva will help me out, and I will definitely rebuild the temple when I get out of the mountain."

After that, the man heard the sound far away outside, settled down and fell asleep in a daze. He dreamed that Cao E said, "Take off my underwear, go to the pawnshop as two hundred and twenty pieces of silver, and come to Beijing in the future, and everything will be fine ..."

When I woke up from my dream, it was already five o'clock. The man didn't dare to stay long, so he took off her underwear and left, just as the queen told him in her dream.

This young man is called Shen Hongkui, and he is a local. His parents died when he was a child, and he made a living by begging. On this day, I tried to change my clothes and wanted to eat a bowl of rice, but I was chased and caught. On that day, he went to the pawnshop to make underwear, and was startled by Chaofeng. It turned out that he also had dreams. He asked himself how much he wanted to be. Shen Hongkui said "two hundred and twenty", but Chao Feng paid as he said without saying anything.

Shen Hongkui arrived in Beijing, which happened to be the deadline for the emperor to arrest eighteen thieves. Seventeen were arrested and one is missing. The fast catcher is worried that he can't do anything. As soon as he saw Shen Hongkui, a ragged foreigner, he seized it no matter what was right or wrong.

The next day, an imperial edict: ask at the noon gate. Shen Hongkui was stripped of his coat and tied to the gate of Wumen Courtyard. He kept saying, "Empress, Empress, you asked me to go to Beijing. Now that I have been wronged, why don't you come and save me? "

There were many people watching at that time. One of the stands was hung with a bamboo curtain, and Otome sat in it. When I heard someone calling the empress, I lifted the curtain, but I couldn't help laughing. It turns out that all the prisoners are naked, but Shen Hongkui is golden and white, just the opposite of her. The fortune teller said that she was a "jade vase covered with gold". Accordingly, the prisoner is a "jade bottle covered with gold".

The judge heard Shen Hongkui asking the Queen for help, but the Queen Otome lifted the curtain to see him. I guess there must be a reason. Besides, he was the last one to be caught, so he asked Shen Hongkui to leave him and give this feeling to the emperor. Just as the queen mother got the news, she called Shen Hongkui "laughing marriage".

Shen Hongkui recruited the attached horse, thinking about the unfulfilled wish of Cao E Temple, and was in a hurry. An old minister had an idea. Early this morning, she cried to the emperor that Xu bullied her. Seeing that his hair was unkempt and his clothes were ragged, the emperor was furious and ordered Xu to be beheaded. Ministers said, "It is common for couples to scold each other in bed. Besides, if we behead Xu, the empress will be expelled from the army ... ". Where is the exile? Another minister said: "send him to the frozen and hungry!" "

When the emperor pushed the boat forward, Shen Hongkui took enough gold and silver to Cao E to build and expand the Niangniang Temple.

After a year or so, I missed Xu and went boating to see Cao E. Shen Hongkui is fishing. When he heard that Otome swam to the shore in a dragon boat, he threw down his fishing rod, rushed to the dock and jumped on the dragon boat. Seeing that he was an ordinary man, the guards on the ship let out a cry and killed him with a knife. When Queen Otome came out, it was too late.

After Shen Hongkui's death, Cao E built a "Shenjiatai Gate" for him next to the Pian Temple of Niangniang Temple to commemorate his achievements. This gate is still there today.

Funny thing about Cao E's unjust money-sucking.

There is a strange phenomenon: there are four mahogany pillars standing in the middle of Cao E's main hall. If you stick a coin to a post, some coins will be absorbed and won't last long, and some coins will not stick with all their strength.

According to legend, when the temple was rebuilt in the Republic of China, craftsmen had a great effort to find these four main pillars. Finally, Cao E sent craftsmen to Nanyang to collect them. Because of the long journey, the time when the materials arrive in Shanghai is very close to the date of Liang, and the shipowner is afraid of delaying the construction period and is very worried. Unexpectedly, it took only one day and one night to get to the riverside in front of the temple by boat from Shanghai to Shangyu. The ship owner was surprised and thought it impossible to be filial to the goddess. Not only did he not get any means of transportation, but he also made a model ship to hang on the NuanGe to show his memory and admiration.

So according to folklore, people who are attracted by money are dutiful sons or daughters. Next time, you don't have to come to the temple to worship Cao E. Those who are not attracted by money are unfilial. You must always go to the temple to add filial piety.
