What are the clinical manifestations of lumbar tuberculosis? How to check?

Clinical manifestations: Low back pain is the most common symptom of lumbar tuberculosis. The nature of pain is dull or painful, accompanied by tenderness and percussion pain. The pain will get worse when you are tired, coughing and sleeping. Upper lumbar tuberculosis can have thigh pain, and lower lumbar tuberculosis can have sciatica. This is because tuberculosis abscess, granulation tissue, necrotic intervertebral disc and bone graft protrude backward into the spinal canal, which makes the spine or nerve root compressed and stimulated, resulting in radiation pain.

Diagnostic basis: there are usually typical clinical manifestations such as pain, joint swelling, joint dysfunction and deformity; X-ray shows bone destruction, narrow intervertebral space and blurred shadow of one psoas major, which is helpful for diagnosis.
