Shi Naian (1296—— about 137 1), whose real name was Yan Duan, was born in Baiju (now Baiju City, Jiangsu Province), whose ancestral home was Suzhou, and was a novelist at the end of Yuan Dynasty and the beginning of Ming Dynasty. He is brilliant in learning from the past and learning from the present. He quoted various philosophers, poems, astronomy, geography, medical divination, astrology and so on.
