What is Wang Wei's name?

Wang Wei is called "Shi Fo".

Wang Wei is called "Wang Youcheng" by the world because of his upright official position. The name of "Shi Fo" is because Wang Wei's poems are all Zen, and his career is unsatisfactory, which makes him devote himself to Buddhism and take Buddhism as his emotional sustenance, thus getting rid of secular troubles.

Buddhism was popular in Wang Wei's time, and Wang Wei believed in Buddhism in his early years. Although he was tired of life in officialdom, he was attached to life and couldn't make up his mind to leave, so Wang Wei always lived a semi-official and semi-secluded life. As the political situation became more and more turbulent, Wang Wei himself suffered a series of blows, which made him gradually depressed and devoted himself to Buddhism.

In his later years, he lived in seclusion in Wangchuan, made friends with Taoist friends and wrote a lot of pastoral poems. His poems contain many Buddhist philosophies. He has a profound understanding of Buddhism and inadvertently combines Buddhism with poetry. In Wang Wei's poems, Zen is often permeated, as if divorced from the world and not contaminated with secular dust. Therefore, in Wang Wei's landscape poems, the natural scenery described has gone beyond the general beauty, but integrated into religion.

The story of Wang Wei's going to Zen Gate

Wang Wei (A.D. 700-76 1) was a great poet, painter and musician in the prosperous Tang Dynasty. His poems are implicit in style, vivid in description, fresh and refined, superb in artistic skills and unique in style. He is good at all kinds of poetic styles and writing all kinds of genres. He, Gao Shi, Wang Changling are the representatives of frontier fortress poems. Known as Wang Meng together with Meng Haoran, he is also a representative figure of pastoral poetry. The famous poems in frontier fortress poems are mostly seven-character ancient poems, and the famous poems in pastoral poems are mostly five-character poems. As for "Zen Poetry", it is unique in ancient and modern times, so it is also called "Shi Fo". Many of Wang Wei's well-known masterpieces are five unique works: just 20 words, which tell people's endless thoughts, feelings and philosophies for thousands of years. Among them, Zhu's In the Mountains, Acacia and Miscellaneous Poems (Part Two) are the most famous. He is good at painting, writing broken ink landscapes and turquoise, as well as people, portraits and bamboo. His brushwork was magnificent, and he took the lead in using painting and shading techniques to lay out a deep and flat landscape, which was praised by later generations as the ancestor of "Southern Sect" and the first scholar to draw. Once I painted "Wangchuan Villa", the valley was gloomy and the clouds were flying around. Su Shi in the Northern Song Dynasty said that there are paintings in poems and poems in paintings.

Wang Wei lost his father in his early years and his mother was a devout Buddhist, which had a great influence on his later life. On the other hand, the ups and downs in his life prompted him to look down on life and strengthen his Buddhist heart: at the age of 2 1, he was promoted to a scholar and became a great musician, but he was implicated because the actor was convicted of jumping the yellow lion and was demoted to join the army in Jeju; During the Anshi Rebellion, he was detained by An Lushan, forced to accept a fake post, and imprisoned after the rebellion; A year later, Su Zong released him, and in the following years, he moved all the way to the official position of Shangshu Youcheng, but at that time he was in his twilight years and had already looked down on the world of mortals.

He lived in seclusion for a long time in his life. He lived in seclusion until he was eighteen. In 729 AD, he lived in seclusion in Shang Qi, then moved to Songshan, and retired as an official. Until 734 AD, the official granted him the right to collect remains. In 74 1-745, he lived in seclusion in Zhong Nanshan. In 748 AD, he bought Song in Lantian and lived in seclusion as an official until he was detained by An Lushan in 756 AD. According to his poems, he has a monastic heart since he was about forty years old. In his later years, he mainly lived in the city, and there were often more than a dozen monks at home to exchange experiences in practicing Buddhism. When I came back from North Korea, I sat alone burning incense and absorbed in meditation.

In seclusion, he often climbs mountains, worships temples, seeks Taoism and asks Zen, and he really wants to live in seclusion in the mountains. Sometimes along the narrow path, winding up, Qifeng refers to the sky, and the rocks above are crumbling; Waterfall springs roar like thunder, spewing out; Walking in the mountains with the Zen master, you will meet monkeys picking chestnuts, and when you go home, you will face the crane nesting in the pine tree. The small bridge we crossed will be built on the fallen tree, and the fence of the residence will be tied by vines hanging from the tree. When I got home, I meditated as soon as Shimen was closed. The next time you open the Shimen, the grass outside the door will grow deep again! Sometimes I climb a very high mountain, behind the deep bamboo forest is the cave where I live. In the silent night, I hear the running water of the distant mountain spring. From below, this place is already foggy, but now I'm sleeping here with a pillow, which really makes people feel that staying temporarily is not enough, but I want to stay here forever. Sometimes when you swim to some mountain temples, tigers get along well with people and monkeys can learn to meditate. At this time, it really makes people feel that the Buddha country is in front of them, the world has become distant and ethereal, and they are ashamed of their official life, hoping to learn Buddhism here for life.

In addition to the above reasons, Wang Wei went to Zen. The pain and suffering of birth, illness and death is also an inspiration and promotion. Sometimes, I sit and meditate alone in the middle of the night, thinking that my temple will turn white and never turn green again. Even if I have gold, I can't help feeling sad. I finally realized that only by learning Tao and jumping out of reincarnation can there be hope. [6] Sometimes in retrospect, I seem to be the young man with a red face not long ago. Now my teeth are bad, my complexion is declining, and my white hair is climbing up at once; Not only that, but also the past injuries experienced by a person in his life come to mind together. Apart from practicing Buddhism diligently, where can this double suffering of body and mind be freed?

With a firm mind and diligent practice, we will have a different world view when we look back at the world: being sick in life is nothing more than clinging to love and hate, complaining because of conscious poverty and complaining because of greed; People are fascinated, but they miss this world of poverty and illness. They are never tired of the six divisions in the wheel of life and death and karma, but they don't know that people came to the world just to move their minds. People can't get rid of these delusions that are upside down like dragon, and they can only be overcome by practicing meditation. [9] Seeing through these truths, the monk naturally settled down to enjoy himself. Moreover, with the improvement of mind, it is also different from the bitter optimism of ordinary people, and it is often happy because of the realization in silence, and gradually distances itself from ordinary people.

In his own poems, Wang Wei also talked about some specific cultivation things: he likes to watch biographies of eminent monks, and sometimes he also looks at the methods of repairing valleys; He carved the head of his walking stick into the shape of a turtledove and put the turtle shell under the foot of the bed. When you have nothing to do, you burn incense and meditate under the north window. When living in seclusion in the mountains, a group of people come to meditate together, and one person has different fun. When he lived in seclusion in Songshan, he also had the experience of closed-door cultivation.

Doing evil is like sharpening a stone, if you don't see its harm, you will lose money every day; Cultivating goodness is like grass in a spring garden, and the days grow longer without seeing its length. Unconsciously, over time, Wang Wei has achieved a very high level of "mindless". You will naturally have some functions when you are tall, but he doesn't value it himself. He simply explained his great achievements in poetry and painting: I have been an expert in poetry and painting for generations, but I was a painter in my last life. Because these old habits have not changed, I have been discovered by the world in my life. After practicing for twenty or thirty years, it is not surprising that you have this function of determining your destiny; His explanation is not only reasonable, but also very consistent with the laws of modern western reincarnation research.
