Admiral Boorda medal incident

It's General Jeremy Michael Boorda, Ren Haijun's 25th Minister of Operations. I read about it in a magazine. Admiral Boorda is the only sailor in the history of the US Navy who was recruited and promoted to the highest rank of combat officer. However, Hackworth, a reporter of Newsweek, found that Boorda wore the V-shaped ornament on the Navy Achievement Medal and the Navy Commendation Medal in public (Hackworth himself, as a retired army colonel, knew something about medals and medals), so he asked Boorda about it and said that he would investigate it. Although Admiral zumwalt, Boorda's boss and former naval operations minister during the Vietnam War, immediately clarified that Boorda had been authorized to wear the V-shaped badge, the Naval Records Management Committee finally ruled that Boorda had no right to wear the V-shaped badge, and only those who actually participated in the direct battle with the enemy and showed special bravery in the battle had the right to wear it. Later, Boorda shot himself in May 1996.
