What if you want to succeed without talent?

I am a person without any talent, so when I was at school, I especially envied those students who were still among the best in the exam even when they slept in class, and I still am.

But that is a minority after all. I don't know how many talented people others have met. I have only met one or two myself.

And more are ordinary people like me. Are we ordinary people impossible to succeed? Of course not. Feng Tang's book Feng Tang's Heart of Success tells us that if you are an ordinary person, you can achieve great things.

In this book, Mr Feng Tang's favorite example is Zeng Guofan. Because Zeng Guofan is an ordinary person like us, even slightly worse than ordinary people. But he finally succeeded, because he spent his whole life practicing himself.

Think about Zeng Guofan's success. Can we ordinary people with better qualifications spend our whole lives practicing?

I especially like Mr. Feng Tang's opening sentence, "Management is daily life, and success is lifelong practice". In two simple sentences, the reason why ordinary people succeed is clearly stated. If you want to succeed, it's very simple, and it's also against human nature. That is to manage yourself and then practice it all your life.

In Feng Tang's Law of Getting Things Done, Mr. Feng Tang talked about team training from individual training and social training from within the system. Needless to say, I was really surprised to see the practices in the system, because I thought that all the success criteria could not save those who wanted to succeed in the system. I didn't expect to see it here. This is a bit surprising.

Of course, I want to focus on Mr. Feng Tang's personal accomplishment. Because only by practicing yourself can we talk about other things. Self-cultivation is the cornerstone of success.

The first thing to do well is to manage yourself.

Mr. Feng Tang mentioned a word when managing himself, that is, "freedom", that is, don't follow the fashion, concentrate on self-cultivation and take the right path. Because following the trend, even if it will have an effect in a short time, it will die in the long run.

If "freedom" is the basis of keeping one's original heart, then admitting one's limitations is the sublimation of self-cultivation.

No one is perfect, each of us has our own limitations, and we should admit our own limitations. Face it correctly and don't run away. Limitation is not shameful. It is shameful for those who know their limitations and dare not face them and do not try to correct them.

Compared with "freedom" and "admitting limitations", people who can control their own desires are really powerful people. Everyone has worldly desires, especially in this materialistic world. Managing your own desires is the real test of human heart and humanity.

Many people succeed, but in the end they lose to power, money and sex. They just become successful people and may be hated.

Of course, if you want to achieve something, you can't do without desire, and you can't do without desire. If you have no desire or desire, what can you do? Therefore, people must have greed, and what should this greed be like? In Zeng Guofan's words, "I'm not competitive, I just don't want to leave such a beautiful world to those idiots." Therefore, your greed should be so positive energy, which is the premise of your success.

Second, it is to defeat yourself.

How to beat yourself? In my opinion, to defeat yourself is to fight against humanity. Remember Li Xiaolai said, be a real tough guy. The fierce people here are similar to the fierce people mentioned by Mr. Feng Tang. They all say that the biggest characteristic of fierce people is to be cruel to themselves. You are not mistaken, whether for others or for yourself.

For example, I can go to bed early and get up early to overcome laziness, control my emotions, treat jealousy and greed correctly, overcome adversity and get up from the bottom.

These seemingly simple habits are simple to stick to for a day, a week or a month, but not simple to stick to for decades. Because human nature is lazy, which is determined by human laziness, but once you overcome these laziness, you can persist for decades or even a lifetime. Why worry that you can't be a great event like Zeng Guofan?

Finally, balance work and life.

In fact, in life, most people who are asked "How do you balance work and family" are women. Because more than 95% of women spend all their time supporting their families after work, if they work too much, they will be accused of neglecting their families, and if they care too much about their families, they will be eliminated by society, let alone their lives.

However, there is life outside of work. You can enjoy life quietly after work. You can put aside any housework and children for a while. Nothing will end the world because you don't do it for a while.

If you really feel that you can't do it, you can also feel the sense of accomplishment and happiness brought by doing housework. Who said that practice must be detached? Cultivating one's mind in trivial matters is an unchangeable way of practice.

Taste life and work hard, so that you won't have too many negative emotions and you can overcome yourself.

Or you may say, all of the above have been done, but who can have a smooth life? What should you do when you are underestimated? How to overcome yourself under various pressures?

There must be pessimism at this time, don't run away. If you really can't go out and can't see the road ahead clearly, then charge yourself, read and study quietly, and learn while watching, maybe you can find a solution to the problem.

You know, most of us are not geniuses but ordinary people. Ordinary people must work harder than geniuses. As long as we use the right method and persist in doing the right thing, will it be far to defeat ourselves first?
