1, Poyang Lake

Poyang Lake, formerly known as Peng Li, Peng Lize and Peng Ze, is located in the northern part of Jiangxi Province, in Jiujiang, Nanchang and Shangrao. It is the largest freshwater lake in China and the second largest lake in China, second only to Qinghai Lake.

2. Dongting Lake

Dongting Lake, formerly known as Yunmeng, Jiujiang and Chonghu, is located on the south bank of Jingjiang River in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River, spanning Yueyang, Miluo, Xiangyin, Wangcheng, Yiyang, Yuanjiang, Hanshou, Changde, Tianjin, Anxiang and Nanxian counties and cities.

3. Taihu Lake

Taihu Lake, located in the southern edge of the Yangtze River Delta, was called Zhenze and Tuju in ancient times, also known as Wuhu and Lize. It is one of the five largest freshwater lakes in China, ranking third.

Located in the middle of Anhui Province, surrounded by Hefei, Chaohu, Feidong, Feixi and Lujiang, it is 55km long from east to west, 2 1 km wide from north to south, with a coastline of176km long, with an average water depth of 2.89m, an area of 780 square kilometers and a volume of 2.07 billion cubic meters.
