Rational discussion on whether Wei Zi Dou Shu is a philosophy.

Rationalism divides philosophy into logic, natural philosophy and ethics according to different research objects.

Among them, logic is the study of rational thinking that does not include acquired experience. Natural philosophy is an empirical world (it can be equated with physics, and the foundation work of Newton's physical system is called the mathematical principle of natural philosophy). Ethics is the study of human freedom and morality.

Wei Zi's game of numbers is first of all empirical and does not belong to logic. Wei Zi's Dou Shu can't be explained by physics, so it doesn't belong to natural philosophy. Obviously, it is not a study of human freedom and morality, nor is it ethics.

In a word, Wei Zi didn't study philosophy.
