Ziwei model

When I was in Taicang, I went there once on the weekend. At Mingde School, the doorman refused to let me in at first, but later I got in touch with him and let me in.

Cemetery:

Wu Jianxiong Cemetery was designed by the Architectural Design and Research Institute of Southeast University and recognized by the world architect Mr. I.M. Pei. Completed at the end of May 1998. The cemetery covers an area of 1372 square meters, and the whole cemetery is surrounded by lawns, trees and flowers.

The cemetery consists of three parts, the west of which is the main part. The main body is round and the tomb is placed in a pool with a diameter of 9 meters. The exterior of the tomb is a cylinder with an inclined plane. The inclined plane of the cylinder is engraved with the epitaph of the author Mr. Jiang. The epitaph is divided into Chinese and English. The inscription reads: "Wu Jianxiong, the most outstanding female physicist in the world, is buried here; Her long and profound scientific work shows her thoughtful masterpieces and insights; Her willpower and devotion to her work are reminiscent of Madame Curie. She joined the WTO, elegant and intelligent, showing sincere love, persistence and wisdom; She is an outstanding citizen of the world and an eternal China. " There are two stone balls in front of the epitaph, each weighing more than 300 kilograms. When the power is turned on, the stone ball will slowly rotate forward and backward with the current, and water columns with different heights will be ejected from the top of the ball, which symbolizes that Professor Wu Jianxiong has verified the experimental principle model of Yang Zhenning and Li Zhengdao's "parity non-conservation law" through the cobalt 60-β decay experiment in Washington State, USA. The design idea of this experimental principle model was put forward by Professor Li Zhengdao, who personally wrote an inscription for the shape description of the cemetery. The inscription reads: "According to the law of parity conservation, the evolution of two completely symmetrical systems should always be left and right, which seems extremely reasonable. This law was overturned by Professor Wu's cobalt nuclear decay experiment in 1957 1 month. In this building, two stone balls symbolize two symmetrical cobalt cores, and the distribution of electrons produced by their decay is represented by water flow, which is asymmetric. I want to commemorate Wu Jianxiong's epoch-making scientific contribution. "

There is a circular viewing platform in the middle of the cemetery, and there is a circular flower bed on the east side of the platform. The tomb faces the flower bed, symbolizing that Professor Wu will live forever in the flowers of the motherland-Mingde students.

The eastern part of the cemetery is a circular zhaobi, which is composed of eight layers of zhaobi, symbolizing Professor Wu Jianxiong's steps of bravely climbing the scientific peak. The height of the Eight Piles on the wall is 50 cm, which indicates that Professor Wu Jianxiong died at the age of 85. On the zhaobi, the five stone-green characters inscribed by Professor Yang Zhenning "Wu Jianxiong Cemetery" shine brightly. There are six huge white marble reliefs embedded in the wall. These six vivid pictures record Wu Jianxiong's main activities in his life.

On the east side of the cemetery is Wu Jianxiong Science and Technology Building, which is integrated with the cemetery and set each other off.

Lagerstroemia indica:

This crape myrtle tree has a history of one hundred years. It was planted by Wu Jianxiong's father, Mr. Wu Zhongyi, when he founded Mingde Women's Vocational School, next to Wu Jianxiong Cemetery. Other things about this tree are hard to say. In short, this tree means a lot to Wu Jianxiong (Wu Jianxiong's nickname is Wei Zi). Under this tree, she left many memories of her youth and China. It can also be said that this Wei Zi tree is a symbol of Wu Jianxiong spirit, which is one reason why Wu Jianxiong's cemetery should be located under this Wei Zi tree.
