Geographical Culture of Dongshan Forest Park in Haining

In the east of Haining, another mountain (Weizishan) far away from Xishan is commonly known as Dongshan.

Dongshan Mountain is also called Shenshan Mountain and Shenshan Mountain. This mountain is 88 meters high and covers an area of nearly one square kilometer. According to historical records, there was a Shen Jing in the Song Dynasty who was once the magistrate of Linhai and Nanyang counties and was buried in this mountain, hence the name Shen Shan. It is also said that Shenshi Mountain is also called Shenshi Mountain, because it has the tomb of Shenshi, which was appointed as Prime Minister Zuo by Lv Hou in the Han Dynasty.

Dongshan's rich historical and cultural heritage is not inferior to Xishan. Dongshan used to be an indicator tower, a reading platform for poets Gu Kuang and Liu Changqing in the Tang Dynasty, a sharpening stone in Qin Huang, an alchemist's well in Ge Hong and many other places of interest. Dongshan also has an indissoluble bond with Buddhism. Throughout the ages, many temples and temples have been built on the mountain. Zen master Hui Chong, a famous monk in Tang Dynasty, has been sitting in Dongshan for several years. Dongshan was also a famous fragrant city in Hangjiahu area in ancient times. Every spring, Miaozhige area is crowded with villagers who pray for blessings.

The mountain is not high, and the fairy is famous. Dongshan Mountain has beautiful scenery, lush trees and rugged mountains, especially natural scenery. Dongshan has ten scenic spots such as Songting and Wanghailou. On a mysterious day, I can clearly see mountains and rivers. In the northwest, I can see a Ma Pingchuan, while in the southeast, I can see the distant mountains and the sparkling sea, which makes people feel relaxed and happy. Therefore, Dongshan attracted many literati in the past dynasties, such as Wang Yangming, Gao Qi and Zhu Yunming, and left a well-known poem.
