How to plant trees

Step one: Dig.

Step 2: Load the car

1. For seedlings with large crown width, protect the trunk with soft materials, and fold the crown with straw rope to reduce branch breakage caused by loading and transportation.

2. When hanging trees by machinery, use straw rope, seedling cloth or waste clothes to protect the trunk. If necessary, nail a circular template on the trunk.

Step 3: Transportation

In the process of transportation, especially when planting out of season, seedlings need to be covered with sunshade nets, and ice cubes are placed in the car to create a local environment. Sprinkle water on the soil ball to keep moisture. Don't spray water on the leaves to accelerate transpiration, causing the seedlings to die of water shortage.

Step 4: Acceptance and seedling unloading.

After the seedlings arrive, it is best to accept them in the car, which can avoid the problem of unclear responsibility after the second transfer of seedlings. The acceptance of trees generally starts from the following points:

1. Does the tree specification: DBH/DBH, height and crown meet the requirements of the company?

2, soil ball size, binding method is in line with the technical requirements, focus on checking whether the soil ball is damaged, whether there is a false soil ball phenomenon.

3. Check whether the bark is damaged. Bark is very important for seedlings. If a large area is damaged or girdled, the survival rate is worrying.

In addition, attention should be paid to the use of cranes when unloading seedlings, and soft materials should be used to protect the trunk before binding to avoid the trunk from breaking skin.

Step 5: Dig a tree hole.

The planting hole is at least 60㎝ larger and 30㎝ deeper than the soil ball. Remove debris and stones, and then backfill the broken soil at the bottom into the shape of an inverted pot. The planting soil for backfilling tree holes needs to use the planting soil with loose structure, air permeability, strong water and fertilizer retention capacity and suitable for the growth of garden plants, which can be improved according to the soil conditions and mixed with sand and peat soil.

Pruning seedlings before digging can change the short-term growth habits of seedlings to a certain extent, reduce the water demand of seedlings, weaken transpiration, make seedlings replenish water in time after arrival, and improve the survival rate of seedlings, especially for off-season planting, such as purple leaf plum planting, which can greatly improve the survival rate.

Note: large trees generally need pruning before planting, and medium and small trees can be pruned after planting. When the seedlings are just dug out of the nursery, they can be trimmed a little, but after all, they are unprofessional. It is not recommended to keep them over-trimmed, just take off the leaves.

Step 7: Planting

When planting seedlings, it is necessary to use cranes to cooperate with artificial planting. According to the backfill height of this project, the seedling planting height is 5-8cm above the horizon. After settlement, the soil ball of seedlings is about 5cm lower than the horizon, which can form a hidden basin, improve the landscape effect and improve the water retention capacity of seedlings.
