Compared with hammering, static pressure pile has the advantages of no noise, no vibration, no pollution and safety, but in saturated soft clay area, pressure pile and piling may produce excess pore water pressure. Static pressure pile method has no noise, vibration, impact force and low construction stress. It can reduce the influence of piling vibration on the foundation and adjacent buildings, and the pile top is not easy to be damaged and eccentric, which saves pile-making materials and reduces the project cost. It can also measure the pile sinking resistance in pile sinking construction, provide parameters for design and construction, and estimate and verify the bearing capacity of piles. There are two types of static pile drivers: mechanical and hydraulic.

(1) Mechanical static pressure pile

Mechanical static pressure pile driver uses the weight and configuration of steel pile frame and auxiliary equipment, and through the traction of winch, the weight of the whole pile driver is transferred to the pile top through wire rope pulley and pressure beam, and the pile segments are pressed into the soil in sections. The pile frame is generally high 16~20m, and the static pressure is 400~800KN. Joints shall be welded or anchored by sulfur cement.

During pile pressing, use winch to pull the pile pressing frame into place, lift the first pile to the pile pressing position, fix the pile top with the pile pressing frame, and clamp the lower end with pulleys. Start the winch to press the pile into the soil until it is exposed to the ground for about 2m, then connect the second pile, with the curvature of the connected pile not greater than 1%, and then continue to press it, and so on until all the pile segments are pressed into the soil.

(2) Hydraulic static pressure pile

The hydraulic static piling machine consists of piling mechanism, walking mechanism and lifting mechanism. During pile pressing, firstly hoist the pile into the main engine of the pile pressing machine with the lifting mechanism, then clamp the pile head with the hydraulic pile clamp, start the pile pressing oil cylinder to press the pile into the soil, then lift the second pile on the return trip, connect the piles with sulfur cement, and continue to press it, and repeat the operation until all the pile sections are pressed into the soil. Then start the walking mechanism and move to the next pile position to continue piling. The static pressure of hydraulic static pile driver is 800~ 1600KN.
