Planning of Ningbo Botanical Garden

The overall planning of Ningbo Botanical Garden is divided into three areas: sports and leisure plants, popular science sightseeing plants and flower gardening plants.

To the west of century avenue is a sports and leisure plant area with the theme of plants and health, covering an area of 120 hectares.

The design concept of sports and leisure factory is residents' fitness and leisure. The planning content includes the water street, tennis court, basketball court, baseball field, football field, gateball court, golf swing field, sports club, VIP restaurant and other places for citizens to exercise, entertain and relax after the transformation of the old residence of the Hong family.

Between century avenue and Zhoulin Port is a popular science sightseeing plant area with the theme of plants and popular science, covering an area of 137 hectares.

Popular science sightseeing plant area is the essence of botanical garden. With the design concept of "four seasons alternate to see different scenery" and "old memories and new ideas", we will create a four-season plant landscape experience area with the theme of "enjoying roses in summer, seeing Jingui in winter and exploring plums in autumn". Popular science tourist areas mainly focus on popular science sightseeing, and popularize botanical knowledge to people in the form of more than 20 characteristic gardens, the road of plant evolution and exhibition greenhouses. The design concept of the planning scheme is to render different scenery alternately in four seasons, which embodies the popular science and scientific functions of the botanical garden. The characteristic gardens in the core area are divided into spring flower plants (Mulan Spring Garden, Bell Sightseeing Memorial Garden, Orchid Garden, Rose Garden, Peony Garden, Sakura Begonia Garden and Lily Garden), summer landscape plants (aquatic wet plants and lianas), autumn landscape plants (Acer truncatum Autumn Garden and Osmanthus Weizi Garden) and winter landscape plants (Poetry Garden, White Pine Garden, Plum Garden,

Mulan Spring Garden and Sakura Begonia Garden are located in the south of the railway in the popular science sightseeing plant area, which is a small part of the popular science sightseeing plant area. 4,700 trees, 40,000 square meters of shrubs and ground cover plants, 83,500 square meters of lawns and about 250 kinds of plants have been planted.

To the east of Zhoulin Port is a flower and horticultural plant area with the theme of plants and life, covering an area of 65 hectares.

The flower gardening plant area is positioned as a comprehensive professional flower and tree business flagship integrating flower and tree trading display, logistics, e-commerce, eco-tourism and leisure sightseeing, so as to build a flower trading market that is the first in East China, advanced in China and in line with international standards. The planning content includes seven parts: trading platform, horticultural supermarket, high-grade materials trading, clubhouse, garden restaurant, display window and trading demonstration planting base.

The Botanical Garden takes the 800-meter-long old railway track as the carrier to create a "road of plant evolution" from low to high, planting Taxodium ascendens, Metasequoia glyptostroboides and Taxodium ascendens. It has become the "aquatic forest" with the richest species of woody aquatic plants in domestic botanical gardens. In addition, a plant specimen science museum, a orchid garden and a pleasant goat animation theme park named after Mr. Zhong Guangguang, a famous botanist in Zhenhai, will be built. There are not only more than 3,000 kinds of rare plants for viewing in the park, but also a natural oxygen bar integrating leisure, entertainment, fitness, popular science and education.
