When do you plant sugar cane?

Sugarcane is usually suitable for planting from late February to early April.

Small knowledge of sugarcane planting:

Land selection and soil preparation: Land selection is beneficial to sandy loam land with deep soil layer, fertile soil, loose texture, good drainage and irrigation, convenient transportation and sufficient sunshine, which requires rotation once every 2-3 years. After harvest, the residue should be burned in time, and the field should be flooded for more than a week to eliminate the residue and pests in the soil. After the water is dry, plow to a depth of more than 30 cm.

Planting management: The planting time of sugarcane is from September of that year to February of the following year. Without sugarcane seeds too early, the yield and quality will be affected too late. Before planting, base fertilizer should be applied to the loose ditch bottom, and then planting should be carried out after the base fertilizer is applied. Before planting, spray a new high-fat film on the branches to greatly improve the germination rate. The planting density is generally controlled at about 20 buds per meter to ensure that there are not less than 4500 effective stems per mu.

Intertillage management: after emergence, combine with the first weeding, and apply urea 15kg per mu. Fertilization during the growth period should be combined with all soil tillage at the same time, and foliar fertilizer and balanced fertilizer should be applied in time. Sugarcane needs a lot of water, so we should pay attention to timely irrigation, but we should avoid large water irrigation, advocate light water irrigation, keep the soil dry and wet, mainly wet, and spray new high-fat film in time to protect fertilizer and moisture. After the sugarcane plants with bracts are stretched, they begin to peel the leaves, 3-4 pieces at a time. Too many leaves will affect the growth of plants, and if not peeled in time, it will affect flour. Spraying Zhuangganling can make the stems of plants strong and greatly increase the yield.

Sugarcane planting conditions:

Sugarcane is a crop that likes temperature and light, with an annual accumulated temperature of 5500℃-8500℃, frost-free period of more than 330 days, annual air humidity of 60%, annual precipitation of 800- 1200mm, sunshine hours of more than1195h. According to the relationship between sugarcane growth, yield formation and sugar content and climate, it is proposed that the active accumulated temperature with daily average temperature ≥20℃ and the annual extreme minimum temperature (Tm), which is the main limiting factor of sugarcane overwintering and long-term growth, are used as indicators for sugarcane climate zoning, which can be divided into the following four sugarcane planting climate zones:

1, the accumulated temperature is above 5000℃, and Tm≥-2℃ is the most suitable climatic zone for planting.

2. The accumulated temperature is 4000-5000 ℃,- 5℃≤Tm ≤- 2℃℃ ≤ TM ≤-2℃ is the suitable climate zone.

3. The accumulated temperature is 3000-5000℃, and -5℃≤Tm≤-2℃ is the suboptimal climate zone.

4. Accumulated temperature ≥3000-4000℃, -8℃≤Tm≤-2℃ is the planting climate zone.

These four climatic zones of sugarcane planting are all concentrated in the central subtropical zone, the southern subtropical zone and the tropical monsoon climate zone. Among them, the most suitable climate zone is basically located in the south of 24 north latitude.

Sugarcane planting techniques:

1, deep ploughing: two plows and two rakes are needed for planting machine, the depth is 50 cm, the soil should be loose and the depth of sugarcane planting ditch should reach 30 cm.

2. Shallow planting: The depth of sugarcane seeds returning to the soil is generally about 5 cm.

3. Wide row: The row spacing of sugarcane planting should be 90- 100 cm, which is beneficial to ventilation and field management after planting.

4. Close planting: 5-6 sugarcane seeds are sown in the sugarcane planting ditch every 100cm, and 3,000-3,500 double-bud sugarcane seeds are sown per mu.

5. Sufficient base fertilizer: per mu1000-2,000 kg farmyard manure. Mix 100 kg of calcium superphosphate, 25 kg of urea and 15 kg of potassium chloride for 7- 15 days, and then apply them in sugarcane planting ditch.

6. Seed soaking: Choose full, pest-free and damage-free double-bud seedlings and soak the seeds with 2% lime water for 1-2 days, which can improve the drought resistance of sugarcane seedlings and eliminate pests and diseases.

7. Planting method: Spread sugarcane seeds on both sides of the planting ditch, then gently press the seedlings into the soil, and then cover the seedlings in the soil to facilitate rooting.

8. Prevention and control of underground pests: When planting, apply 2-3 kilograms of Mi Le per mu to prevent the harm of underground scorpions and sugarcane borers.

9. Chemical weeding before germination: Before planting sugarcane seedlings, use 25 ml of 40% atrazine and 200 ml of methazine per mu, add 50-60 kg of water, and spray topsoil to control weed growth.
