The difference between Chang 'e and Yutu

"Chang 'e" series is a lunar probe, and "Jade Rabbit" is a lunar patrol device, commonly known as "lunar exploration robot". They have different functions.

Yutu is the first lunar rover in China. Together with the lander, it forms the Chang 'e-3 probe. The design mass of Yutu lunar rover is 140 kg, and the energy source is solar energy, which can withstand the extreme environment such as vacuum on the moon surface, strong radiation and extreme temperature ranging from-180 degrees Celsius to above zero 150 degrees Celsius. Chang 'e 3 (CE 3) is a robotic lunar probe in the second phase of China's lunar exploration project, including a lander and a lunar rover (Jade Rabbit). In China myths and legends, Chang 'e ran to the moon with a jade rabbit in her arms. The image of Jade Rabbit's kindness, innocence and agility is similar to the structure and mission of the lunar rover, which embodies China's position of peaceful use of space.
