The capital of the Tang Dynasty?
After Li Longji proclaimed himself emperor, he made Tokyo his capital, and Chang 'an at this time was also called Xijing accordingly. When Hengli (Su Zong) proclaimed himself emperor, in the second year of Germany (AD 757), four capitals were established, namely, Luoyang in Tokyo, Taiyuan in Beijing, Fengxiang in Xijing and Chengdu in Nanjing. At this time, the capital Chang 'an was renamed Zhongjing, and the Tang Dynasty formed a pattern of "five Beijing systems".
There were two cities in Chang 'an in Tang Dynasty, 108 square, which was the first big city with a population of one million in the world history. In the population of Chang 'an in the Tang Dynasty, besides residents, royalty, dignitaries, soldiers, slaves, monks and nuns, and ethnic minorities, there were no fewer than 30,000 foreign businessmen, messengers, international students, and monks studying abroad.
Luoyang City in Tang Dynasty was designed according to the concept of "harmony between man and nature", with Wei Zicheng as the core, symbolizing Wei Zi Palace and being the residence of the Emperor of Heaven. It covers an area of 4.2 square kilometers, which is six times that of the Forbidden City in Beijing. It laid the basic pattern of Miyagi in China, and was a model of palace architecture after Sui and Tang Dynasties, which was imitated by palaces in Song Dynasty, Yuan Dynasty and Ming and Qing Dynasties.
There are two reasons for expanding data.
The capital of Luoyang was decided by the great empress Wu Zetian. Because Chang 'an was surrounded by Guanlong nobles ruled by the Tang Dynasty, Wu Zetian changed her new capital. With the change of Wu Zetian, the Tang Dynasty became the Zhou Dynasty, so it was natural to move the capital.
After comprehensive consideration, Wu Zetian decided to choose Luoyang, because Luoyang, as the capital, can not only monitor every move in Guanzhong area, but also break away from the encirclement of Guanlong nobles and control the whole country well. As a result, Wu Zetian made Luoyang the capital and changed the official position of the new dynasty.
Because Chang 'an and Luoyang are two capitals, the rulers after the Tang Dynasty did not change the decisions of their predecessors, so they used the two capitals without making any changes. Such a system of two capitals existed until the demise of the Tang Dynasty, which had a great influence on the later period.
