Kangwangzhai is located in the hinterland of Dabie Mountain, which is a natural barrier at the junction of Hubei, Henan and Anhui provinces, and also a watershed between Huaihe River and Yangtze River. Known as the "three provinces crow and shield Jianghuai". The elevation of Mount Qomolangma in Kangwangzhai is 1337. 1 m, which is the first peak in Macheng. This is under the jurisdiction of Macheng state-owned Lion Peak Forest Farm.

As the first and most important mountain range in Macheng, Kangwangzhai is undoubtedly the ancestor of many mountains. In the process of extending from Kangwangzhai to the southeast and southwest, it seems that dozens of majestic and tall peaks have appeared in succession, among which there are as many as 89 peaks with an altitude of about 1000 meters in Macheng alone. Climbing to the top of Kangwangzhai, you can see the mountains dancing on all sides, just like dragons and horses galloping. The vast green forest is like a huge green carpet, covering the undulating mountains, giving people a feeling of being in a fairyland on earth.

There are criss-crossing valleys and streams, and the deepest valley is the legendary Dawanggou in Kang Wang. The rocks on both sides of this ditch are cut, and the ditch is unfathomable. Even if the sky is clear and sunny, it is difficult for the sun to penetrate into the bottom of the ditch. Not far from this ditch, there is a ravine more than 10, which is called boiled arrow ditch. According to legend, Kang Wang cooked bamboo arrows with secret poison in this ditch, and his arrow was extremely poisonous, sealing his throat with blood. Gravel is everywhere in the ditch, big piles, like a stone stove, black as ink, and it seems that there is a smell of fireworks. In late spring and early summer, thousands of rhododendrons in Kangwangzhai area are competing to open, such as rosy clouds, colorful flowers and red mountains and rivers. The azalea period here is about a week later than that of Guifeng Mountain. Therefore, with the further development of the rhododendron tourism industry in Macheng, Kangwangzhai has a great advantage of backwardness.

Kangwangzhai is also a rare plant kingdom and animal kingdom in the hinterland of Dabie Mountain. There are thousands of precious Chinese herbal medicines such as Hericium erinaceus, Eucommia ulmoides, Gastrodia elata, Poria cocos and Ganoderma lucidum on the mountain. There are patches of ancient ginkgo community and oak community, and precious tree species such as Buxus macrophylla and Lagerstroemia indica. There are wild boars with bamboo shoots, wild rock sheep jumping on cliffs, fragrant geese sticking out their long tongues to feed in bushes, giant pythons and pythons swimming leisurely in mountain springs, and leopards in the 1970s.

There is a pass to the south of Kangwangzhai. According to legend, during the Warring States period, Sun Tzu crossed the pass and entered the State of Wu. Sun Tzu lamented the strange terrain along the way, and remembered it while walking, which made the terrain of Sun Tzu's Art of War a great success in the future. There were checkpoints here during the Three Kingdoms period. In the fifth year of Xianfeng in Qing Dynasty, Taiping Army and Nian Army entered eastern Hubei, western Anhui and southern Henan, and often went in and out of this pass. Hu Linyi, the governor of Hubei Province, rebuilt this pass in 8 years in Xianfeng, and built a garrison barracks. When it was completed in 9 years in Xianfeng, he sent troops to stop the Taiping Army from going south.

Kang Wangzhai crossed the gate according to the chessboard stone. It is said that Yue Jiajun fought fiercely with the nomads from here. There is a Yuefei Cave, which is located in the northeast of Kangwang Village. There is a very high Niu Shan, formerly known as Niutou Mountain. Because Niu Hao went over the mountain to find Han Shizhong, he moved back and forth for a day and a night to help. Another folk legend is that Liu Tianbiao, a folk hero with superb martial arts, was born in Jiuxie Mountain, sanhe town, Macheng. Liu Tianbiao, whose name is Emperor Hua and whose name is Kang Wang, is intended to be the same as Zhao Gou, the ninth son of Song Huizong. At the peak of Liu Tianbiao's life, there were dozens of famous men, including Miss Huang Hua, Pedal Monk, Wanshou Taoist, and Goose King Mountain. Their influence has reached three provinces and nine counties. The Northern Song Dynasty imperial court sent troops to crusade many times, leaving a story of "five women conquering the south". Later, Kang Wang was defeated and returned to the imperial court. After that, Liu Tianbiao took part in the battle with Jin Wushu, his stomach was killed and his intestines flowed out. He tore off his shirt, wrapped it up, killed several generals of the martial arts, and then died.

The real recorded war in Kangwangzhai was the battle of the 2nd1Army 17 1 Division of the National Revolutionary Army against Japanese invaders in Kangwangzhai during the defending war of Wuhan in the autumn of 1938. During the battle, from the early morning to the afternoon, the Japanese aggressors were besieged on all sides, trying to escape, fighting several times in vain, and were all beaten back. Farmers in China, Henan and Anhui provinces heard that the Japanese army was fighting Japanese soldiers in Kangwangzhai, and they sent dry food and fruits to reward the three armed forces and joined the war one after another. They used the big stones when King Kang built the stockade wall to roll around where the Japanese army gathered. The Japanese army suffered numerous casualties and was in a mess. At dusk, the Japanese invaders broke through lightly. A stream fled from dishuiya in the north of Kangwangzhai. It was a dead end, and there was a bottomless ravine under the cliff ahead. 17 1 division followed closely, and grenades and machine guns violently shot down the enemy group. Another Japanese invader fled eastward through the deep ditch behind Goose Baogong and fell into the ambush circle set by 17 1 division. Most of the two Japanese troops were annihilated, and only eight escaped Japanese troops hid in a shack, and were later killed by farmers Yan Yushan, Tang Benren, Wu Sanzai and Li Kuazi. In this campaign, * * * wiped out more than 2,300 Japanese invaders, which wrote a glorious page for the Chinese nation to resist foreign aggression.
