The infrared detector uses an infrared detector and an optical imaging objective to receive the infrared radiation energy distribution map of the target to be measured and reflect it to the photosensitive element of the infrared detector, so as to obtain an infrared thermal image corresponding to the thermal distribution field on the surface of the object. Generally speaking, an infrared thermal imager converts invisible infrared energy emitted by an object into a visible thermal image. Different colors on the thermal image represent different temperatures of the measured object. Bright means high temperature, and dark means low temperature. Or use cold and warm colors to indicate temperature.

As far as I know, there is no instrument for directly measuring insulation by infrared rays, but even so, we can indirectly judge the insulation of electrical equipment; Because the electrical equipment will not overheat under normal circumstances, when the infrared thermometer finds that a certain part of the electrical equipment is hot, there must be something wrong with that part. For high-voltage electrical equipment, many cases are caused by overheating due to decreased insulation and increased leakage, so insulation defects can be found by infrared temperature measurement;

3. When the ambient temperature is close to the temperature of electrical equipment, the image will be difficult to judge and the accuracy of measurement will be reduced.
