There are eighty-eight constellations in the sky, twelve of which are distributed on the ecliptic, and the ecliptic is divided into twelve equal parts. They are Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces, which is what we usually call the "zodiac signs". It takes exactly one year for the sun to cross the twelve constellations, and each constellation of the zodiac occupies about one month.
