Why is Cupid called "God of Love"

Cupid is the son of Venus, the god of love in ancient Roman mythology. The golden bow is his usual weapon, and his arrow never misses. Although the person who is shot will suffer because of love, it is a sweet pain. Even Jupiter cannot resist this magical power, so love is interpreted as the most terrible and powerful natural force. Therefore, Cupid has always been regarded as a symbol of love and as "the love of God". Once his arrow is inserted into the hearts of young men and women, it will make them deeply in love.
