Film Review of Previous Raiders

Looking back four years ago, "Suspected Boy Scott Against the World" was originally intended to watch a game movie, but it was unconsciously regarded as a "previous raiders". The name of the movie can be changed to "Scott Pilgrim vs Remo's Seven Evil Previous Degrees". In this movie, the ex is not only the best, but also evil. Of course, evil is not only Remo's seven angry and violent predecessors, but also Scott's two predecessors, one of whom even changed his name to evil.

Although the film is developed in the form of e-sports games, it is very postmodern, but the meaning of "education" behind it is still "the right way". Just like the little monsters in Journey to the West, Remo's seven evil predecessors are all "demons" Scott met in his love journey. Their emotions are angry, but their character is violent. They came straight for Scott and went into combat mode as soon as they met. Scott gradually changed from forced combat to active combat. Facing the last evil predecessor, he learned the skill of "love" and drew a sword from his chest, but it didn't save his lover, but it cost him his life.

Scott's failure is that he learned "love", but he didn't find himself, so he couldn't get out of his love shadow. His ex-girlfriend abandoned him and achieved unprecedented success in music, which was a devastating blow to his self-esteem. However, the director told this orthodox story in a very special way, which is the biggest highlight of the film. When it comes to the narrative mode of gamification movies, our first thought must be Run Lola, which borrows the idea of video games and presents us with three independent narratives, which opens our eyes. However, crooked boy is not divorced from linear narrative, and the gamification of role setting actually simplifies many narrative processes. Each movie character will have a short entry to explain, and the "transition" of narrative also saves many steps. The most important thing is that the characters are also extremely simplified. To defeat the seven evils, each one has to be compressed in a limited narrative space, and the gamification setting is very helpful. More importantly, the symbolic meaning of these seven predecessors is the same. Just like every opponent who comes out of a fighting game, they try to provoke you with natural anger and let you fight quickly and fully. It can be seen that these enemies are actually the externalization of the hero's "demons". As for the overall narrative, such as gamification, it is more like a variant of a dream, and it also highlights the evolution of the protagonist's inner mental journey.

However, the greatest pleasure of movies comes from the gamification presentation. Without these odds and ends, the meaning of the film is not great, and in my opinion, these are the greatest significance of this film.
