Ancient people believed in ghosts and gods, even the emperor was no exception. Li Shangyin once wrote a poem, in which there are two sentences: "The poor are empty in the middle of the night, and Mo Wen citizens ask ghosts and gods". It is said that Kangxi had the most direct influence on fortune-telling, even affecting the emperors Yongzheng and Qianlong.

There is a detail in the archives of the Qing Dynasty. It is said that in June of the 60th year of Kangxi, when Nian Gengyao, the governor of Sichuan Province, went to Beijing to handle affairs, Emperor Kangxi ordered him to look for the "name calculation" of the capital to calculate something. Although Nian Gengyao didn't really look for a "name", Kangxi gave instructions on the memorial of his report. This man's divination is really good. It shows that Kangxi often went to see him for divination.

In sixty-one, Kangxi met Li Hong for the first time in Yongzheng's home. I liked Emperor Qianlong as soon as we met. Among Kangxi's grandchildren, Emperor Qianlong is undoubtedly the best.

A few days later, Kangxi specially ordered a eunuch to come to Yongzheng and asked him to write down the eight characters of Qianlong. There is no doubt that the eight characters of Qianlong are born with wealth and intelligence.

Kangxi was overjoyed and specially ordered people to take Emperor Qianlong to the palace to raise him.

Some people say that it was precisely because of Kangxi's preference for Li Hong that he finally decided to pass the throne to Li Hong's father Yongzheng, which may be biased, because Yongzheng may just want to push his son to Qianlong at first. If he can be loved, Li Hong will not be persecuted by the royal family even if he does not become emperor.
