By the beginning of 2 1 century, the earliest inscription on Rooney was found regularly around the second century AD. With the introduction of Christianity into northern Europe, Rooney's letters were gradually replaced by Latin letters.

Around the 6th century AD, the Rooney alphabet disappeared in Central Europe.

1 1 century or so also disappeared in Scandinavia, but in Scandinavia, Rooney letters are often used for decorative patterns.

Until the beginning of 2 1 century, this kind of writing was still used for divination in modern times.
