How to approve the occupation of wetlands?

Requisition of general wetlands shall be audited by the municipal wetland protection department and approved by the Municipal People's Government; Important wetlands in the province shall be audited by the relevant wetland protection departments of the province and submitted to the provincial people's government for approval.

Legal basis:

Article 30 of the Regulations on the Protection and Management of Wetlands: Construction projects shall not occupy or occupy less wetlands, and if they need to be expropriated and used for other purposes after being approved accurately, the land-using units shall go through the relevant procedures in accordance with the principle of "preemption and replenishment, and the balance of occupation and replenishment".

Temporary occupation of wetlands, the period shall not exceed 2 years; When the temporary occupation period expires, the occupying unit shall carry out ecological restoration of the occupied wetland within a time limit.
