What is the origin and history of Yin surname?

The source of Yin surname:

Origin 1: Shao Hao, Yinfeng Yin Cheng.

In A Brief History of Tongzhi Imperial Clans, Yin, the son of Jin Tianshi, was sealed in (now northwest of Yiyang County, Henan Province, southeast of Xin 'an County, Shaanxi Province, and northeast of Xixian County), and was named Yin Fair. His descendants are hereditary Gong Zheng and live in Yin Cheng, that is to say, they take the feudal city as their surname.

Origin 2: Yi Yin, the ancestor of Guanyin in the Western Zhou Dynasty.

Yi Yin, also known as Shiyi, recorded Hua Qing Jian as "Shu Yi". He was ordered to observe astronomy, make calendars and record Zhou Wang's words and deeds and world events.

After the demise of the Western Zhou Dynasty, Yin moved eastward and got a fief named Yiyang, Henan Province, which belonged to the capital of the Zhou Dynasty. In 5 16 BC, Yin was defeated and perished, and China people took Yin as their surname.

Source 3: from Jia, taking the official as the surname.

The custom of Ying Shao in the Eastern Han Dynasty contains a general meaning: the descendants of Yi Yin, the prime minister in the early Shang Dynasty, took Yin, the official position of Yi Yin, as their surname. So this Yin surname comes from Yi surname.

Origin 4: Sinicization from ethnic minorities

According to "A Brief History of Clans in Qing Dynasty", there are some sinicized Yin surnames in Mongolia, such as Borzijit, Yegulut and Yinzhai. Zhang Jiashi of Manchu Xibo nationality has been translated into Yin; Today, Bai, Miao, Zhuang and Korean all have Yin surnames.
