Interpretation of Chapter 9 of the Book of Changes?

Divination method:

(1) Among the 50 yarrow trees, one symbol of "Tai Chi" was removed first and never used again. The remaining 49 letters are divided into two halves, symbolizing "two musical instruments", and each hand holds half.

(2) Take one from the right hand and put it between the little finger and the ring finger of the left hand, symbolizing the "human" in the "three talents" (heaven, earth and man).

(3) Put down the yarrow of the right hand, and count the yarrow of the left hand with the right hand, four at a time, and the last remainder is sandwiched between the ring finger and the middle finger of the left hand. It is said that four yarrow trees symbolize the "four seasons" and the rest symbolize the "leap moon".

(4) Count the half of yarrow held by the right hand with the left hand. The method is the same as above, and the remaining yarrow is sandwiched between the middle finger and the index finger of the left hand. At this time, the yarrow in the left hand is not fifty-nine, and the remaining yarrow is not forty or forty.

(5) Put 95 yarrows aside, divide the remaining 40 or 50 into two halves and put them in the left and right hands respectively, and then take one from the right hand and put it between the little finger and the ring finger of the left hand. As mentioned above, count four at a time, and then count your left hand. The remaining two yarrow and the first one placed in the left hand must be four or eight. At this time, the remaining yarrow is not 32, 36, 40.

(6) Do the same operation again, and the remainder is eight or four. After removing the remainder, the remaining yarrow is either twenty-four, twenty-eight, thirty-two or thirty-six.

The above three scores of yarrow are called "three changes". Three changes have four results: twenty-four, twenty-eight, thirty-two and thirty-six. These four figures are six, seven, eight and nine times of "four", six is old yin, eight is shaoyin, nine is Lao Yang and seven is shaoyang. This led to a good result.

Since there are six hexagrams in each of the sixty-four hexagrams, I have to come six times, and * * * has changed eighteen times.
