Fu Peirong, born in Shanghai, 1950. He was the head of the Department of Philosophy and the director of the Institute of Philosophy of Taiwan Province Provincial University. He is currently a professor of philosophy at Taiwan Province University and a chair professor at Zhejiang University. Professor Fu was once rated as "the hottest professor in colleges and universities" by Taiwan Province Minsheng Daily. In recent years, Professor Fu has held nearly 200 lectures on Chinese studies every year, covering China, Malaysia, Korea, Singapore and other places, and has a far-reaching influence in the cultural and ideological circles. At the end of 2008, he was named "Person of the Year in China Cultural Field" by 2 1 Century Business Herald.

Fu Peirong, a graduate of Fu Jen Catholic University, holds a master's degree in philosophy from Taiwan Province Provincial University and a doctor's degree in philosophy from Yale University, specializing in religious philosophy. He used to be a visiting professor at Leuven University, a chair professor at Leiden University in the Netherlands, the head of the Department of Philosophy and the director of the Institute of Philosophy at Taiwan Province Provincial University, and now he is a professor at the Department and Institute of Philosophy at Taiwan Province Provincial University. In June 2009, he gave a lecture on "The Wisdom of Mencius" in the lecture room of CCTV.
