What is tantric?
Tantric Buddhism, one of the Buddhist sects in China, is from India. Tantric Buddhism combines the inheritance of Tantric Buddhism in various countries and regions. Tantric Buddhism absorbed a lot of Taoist contents from China from the very beginning. In the eighth century, Indian tantric Buddhism was introduced to China by the founders such as Su Hakala Sinha Ajiri, Vajrayana Ajiri and Master Bukong, and spread to monks and their party.
From then on, the monks practiced and taught, formed the tantric Sect, known as the leader of tantric Sect, and wrote the Great Sun Sutra, which is the annotation of the Great Sun Sutra. This sect established Sammi Yoga according to the Great Sun Sutra and King Kong Ding Jing, and practiced the highest secret method.
Extended data:
Tantric sects are divided into various sects, such as Gelug Sect, Nyingma Sect and Kagyu Sect. Each has its own characteristics in legal revision. No matter what sects or methods of practice, there is no difference in Buddhism practice and there is no fundamental difference in knowledge. All Buddhas and Bodhisattvas were founded in response to different causes of all living beings, so they have the following characteristics.
First, based on the inheritance of the impression of Buddha. That is, based on the insights of Buddhism that have been circulating for nearly three thousand years.
Second, take the middle view of Buddhism as the positive view. That is, the essence of everything in the world is "vacuum", that is, it is neither "empty" nor "existence"; It is neither "empty" nor "non-existent", so we know that everything in the universe is "wonderful" from "vacuum", "wonderful" is manifestation, and "vacuum" is nature.
Third, take the formula of ancestors as the practice rule. That is, the three secret correspondence: the handprint deed, the mouth holding the truth, and the mind making the wonderful view run through the whole practice process, so that the self-nature composed of body, mouth and mind corresponds to the Buddha-nature composed of mantra, seal and view, resulting in legality, sweeping away the impetuous habits from the beginning and achieving great happiness.
Fourth, take winning righteousness and bodhicitta as the heart. In other words, all beings have Buddha nature. Before they became Buddhists, they all showed themselves as mortals and made great achievements for their own self-interest, so they suffered immeasurable pain in reincarnation. Therefore, while realizing ourselves, we should also save others with great compassion, great desire and great bodhicitta, so that we can feel that he is perfect.
Fifth, it is the way of inheritance that teachers enlighten and master and apprentice pass on from mouth to mouth. The guru is the embodiment of Buddha and Bodhisattva. They shoulder the responsibility as representatives of the Buddha and play a connecting role to ensure that the Buddha's thoughts are passed down from generation to generation.
Sixth, take the secret multiplication of the Fourteen Commandments as the fundamental commandment. All people who practice secrets need to use precepts to regulate and correct their behavior, and keep precepts. Because of its inheritance characteristics, the secret riding commandment stipulates that it is the fundamental commandment not to betray or slander the guru.
