Where is Lijiang Museum?

Lijiang Museum, located in the north of Heilongtan Park in Old Town of Lijiang, is a public welfare institution formed by the merger of Lijiang Dongba Culture Museum and the former Lijiang Cultural Relics Management Office in 2004. It is responsible for collecting, sorting out, researching and publicizing historical relics, inheriting and promoting national culture, and protecting and managing cultural relics in Lijiang. The talent structure is reasonable and has good academic research ability. The museum consists of office, exhibition and education department, security department, cultural relics protection management department, industrial development department and other departments. 1993 was awarded the title of "Top Ten Excellent Museums at County Level in China", 1994 was awarded the title of "National Advanced Cultural Collective", and 1997 was listed as "Yunnan Patriotic Education Base".

There are four exhibition halls in the museum. The first exhibition hall mainly displays the origin of Naxi nationality, some unearthed cultural relics, Dongba culture and Dongba culture masters, three parallel rivers, sand table of ancient tea-horse road, Lijiang national costumes and so on. The second exhibition hall mainly displays Dongba related appliances, Dongba holy places and famous villages, Dongba divination methods, Naxi traditional wooden houses and so on. The third exhibition hall mainly displays Dongba hieroglyphics, Dongba papermaking technology, collection and dissemination of Dongba scriptures around the world, and the content and form of Naxi Dongba Festival. In the fourth exhibition hall, Dongba religion of Naxi nationality, sacred road map, Dongba musical instruments and artworks have been exhibited before. Now, due to the exchange with museums outside the province, the national costumes and cultures exchanged for the first time outside the province are exhibited.

There is a large quadrangle in the museum, and the works of famous painters and painters in Lijiang are displayed on the wall market in the courtyard.

Lijiang Museum is closed on Mondays of the first week and the third week of each month, and is open at other times.
