Five Emperors-Zhuan Xu

The Yellow Emperor has fourteen sons. The Yellow Emperor married the daughter of Xiling as a princess named Lei Zu. Lei Zu gave birth to two sons. After that, they all occupied the world. His eldest son, Xuantao, is from Qingyang and lives in Jiang Shui. The second son's name is Changyi, and he lives on the bank of Ruoshui. Changyi married the daughter of Shushan named Changfu. The son of the servant is named Levin.

Lai has Shengde, the son of Changyi and the grandson of the Yellow Emperor. In 2599 BC, the Yellow Emperor died and was buried in Mu Ye, Qiaoshan. His grandson Levin succeeded to the throne, and this is Emperor Zhuan Xu.

During his 78 years in office, he took many major reform measures: he began to set up official positions for the needs of the people. Appoint six officials to manage forests, water conservancy, metallurgy, land, fire and sacrifice. Since then, the duties of officials have not been confused.

Reform witchcraft and sacrifice. Because of the large number of diviners, the divination results are often contradictory, which seriously affects the unity and unity among tribes. Therefore, Emperor Zhuan Xu issued an executive order to strictly examine the professional qualifications of fortune tellers, and prohibited folk people from engaging in divination except those appointed by the state.

Reform the calendar. During the reign of Emperor Zhuan Xu, the calendar was reformed according to the changes and observations of the sun, the moon and the stars. Beginning of spring is named after the dawn of 1 month 1 day in early spring, and 24 solar terms are set by analogy. This reform makes the calendar basically conform to the laws of nature, and planting whole grains in this way is more conducive to crop growth and agricultural development.

Describe Kyushu. It is said that during the reign of Emperor Zhuan Xu, the administrative divisions of the whole country were delineated for the first time, and the first administrative division map of the whole country was made, measured and drawn.

Later generations said this about Emperor Zhuan Xu. Foresighted and knowledgeable, he can flexibly plant suitable grains or trees according to different geology, be good at observing the changes of the sun, moon and stars and making calendars, respectfully serve the ancestors of ghosts and gods, be good at educating the people and formulate etiquette systems. Benefiting the north and south of the river, it touches all things and gods. As long as there is a place where the sun and the moon shine, you can feel the sacredness of Zhuan Xu.
