Santiago is a boy who is herding sheep in Spain. One day, he had the same dream twice in an abandoned church, dreaming that there was a treasure buried in the pyramids of Egypt. He thought it was an omen, so he went to a wizard to explain his dream, but he didn't make it clear. When he wanted to give up, he met an old man, King Salem. In exchange for some sheep, the old man gave the boy two precious stones-Trogopterori and Tuming, which can be used for divination and recognition of omens. The boy sold the rest of the sheep and embarked on a journey of chasing his dreams with jewels. When he set foot in Africa, his naive close friends were cheated. When he was penniless and desperate, the omen of the gem restored his confidence. Then he joined a crystal shop, not only survived in a foreign country, but also helped the crystal shop owner revitalize his business through his wisdom and efforts, and he also saved a lot of money. He later joined a caravan crossing the Sahara desert. After a long journey, he fled the war in an oasis. In the oasis, he met the girl in his life, and with the ability to read desert omens, he helped the oasis avoid a war disaster. He met an alchemist. In order to follow the omen, he bid farewell to his beloved girl and continued the rest of his journey under the guidance of the alchemist. On the way, they were arrested, and the teenager turned himself into a "wind" through communication with nature, successfully escaped and reached the Egyptian pyramids. When he was digging for treasure under the pyramid, he met a robber. The robber robbed him of his money, but inadvertently joked that he dreamed that a treasure was buried under an abandoned church in Spain. The boy immediately understood that the treasure was at the beginning of his dream. So he returned to Spain and really found the treasure under the church. Then he went to the oasis to find the girl waiting for him. "I'm coming, Fatima."

Everyone is different and has their own unique side. There is no need to change yourself to cater to others. There is only one life, and we deserve to live the life we want. But sometimes, we also want to be recognized by people around us, especially those who are like-minded, caring and loving us. It is also human nature to pursue collective identity. After all, we can't be completely divorced from social relations and exist in isolation.

Do we want to live as people around us expect?

Before answering this question, let's consider whether the question itself is correct. Treat yourself like a chestnut. When I was a teenager, I was a little rebellious. I hate being told what to do. I thought whether to do it or not was my own business. If I really want to do it, I will do it. But if someone gives me an order, I may refuse, or even if I don't refuse, I am very unhappy when I do it as required. For example, if I want to sweep the floor, I will sweep the floor. I was told that I was going to sweep the floor, and I didn't want to go or was unhappy, haha. The idea originated from adolescent rebellion, and now it seems a bit naive. Naively, I simply want to stick to my personality and try to achieve it by expressing my differences with others or forcibly resisting the expectations around me. Then there will be a problem, seemingly pursuing self, but actually ignoring the real inner voice-whether you want to do something or whether you need to do something, which has nothing to do with what others say or not. You have to ask your heart.

Then come back to see this problem. Do we need to care about other people's expectations? Theoretically, we don't need it. What we need is to ask ourselves if this is what we want in our hearts. If you really want it, don't worry about who gave you advice, don't worry about how many people you will lead similar or different lives, and don't worry about whether you will succeed. Anyway, I chose it, I think.

Ps: I can give another example. Although I am a traditional China native, I am disgusted with the traditional concept of "carrying on the family line", even a little pedantic. It's not that I don't like children. On the contrary, I think children are very interesting and cute. I just think that getting married or having children is a matter for young people themselves and should not be intimidated by their elders. But later, as I grew older, I seemed to gradually understand why my parents had such expectations-because we are all getting old and children are like the continuation of our lives. Just like me, although I am working hard to keep fit and exercise a lot of muscles, I can still feel the traces of the passage of time. I think that one day I will be full of white hair, trembling and stumbling, just like my grandparents I see now. Then at that time, I thought children might be my hope, too. It will be the hope of my wife and me, haha. From this perspective, marriage and children have the value we expect in the future, although there will be many hardships in the middle. Just think about it. Marry the person you like. She will be a mother, I will be a father and we will raise a child together. Whether it's a man or a woman. We will teach TA the best things and watch her grow. This will also be a very interesting thing.

Then let's jump out and see why we didn't understand our parents' expectations. Maybe it's because we don't have so much experience and don't feel so much about the passage of time. This also inspires us to calm down and think, "Are we thinking right?"

We will not stand on the opposite side of the world, but we will not face life with the mentality of victims;

We are willing to make some sacrifices for the people we love, and we are also willing to use our creativity to transform our lives and make them warm and energetic.

I like reading late at night because it's quiet here, my mind is empty and I feel like a yogi. When I read my inner voice and whim, I feel as if I have grasped the trajectory of the universe. At this time, I will close my eyes and thank the world for its wonderful understanding. At the same time, I will silently bless the people I love, and sometimes I will bless myself, because at this moment, I feel that I have the closest connection with the universe ~
