Research methods of folklore

There are certainly many similarities between the research methods of folklore and those of other humanities. For example, the comparative research method widely used in folklore-the similarity between the two nationalities is an important factor that causes research. Another example is19th century natural myth school's comparison of various myths in different history, different places and even the events of the same nation. In the 20th century, the theory and method of "structuralism" rose. 1958, French Claude Levi-S. Strauss's works "Structural Anthropology" and "The Structure of Kinship", etc., used structural methods to explore folk customs. With the continuous development of science, the research methods of various disciplines should be diversified, even folklore is no exception.

The object of study is oral folklore (oral literature)
