Fireflies in the daytime _ Fang Siqi's first love paradise
This book is one of my favorite books. I won't talk much about Lin's personal experience to talk about this book.
If the article only criticizes the tutor who seduces female students, it is only the surface of the article. If you don't read this meaning, you are really playing dumb. According to the author himself, this is just an inner sleeve. So what is the outer cover?
Before, Lin mentioned in her interview video: Can art include rhetoric? In fact, Lin has further explained this proposition in an interview. If the forest is used, it is:
And this beauty is accumulated through a lot of rhetoric and words. If a person sees a teacher in his forties seducing a teenage girl, then most people will think it is an atrocity, no one will think it is a beautiful picture, and someone may even pick up a wooden stick and beat the teacher. But according to my own experience, reading this book backwards can really make people feel that this book is worth reading. There are so-called beautiful things in this book, although this kind of beauty is morbid.
Why is this, as Lin said above, because we get an aesthetic pleasure from it. When the pleasure piled up by words and rhetoric can "beautify" the ugly atrocities of seduction in the aesthetic sense, will other black and evil things become white and beautiful through writing? In this sense, the proposition "Does art include rhetoric?" It may be easier to understand.
There are many metaphors piled up in the article. Although the metaphor is wonderful and subtle, it makes people sigh, but at first I thought it was the author's habit to pile up metaphors. In addition, in the preface of the book, some authors mentioned similar problems, but the accumulation of these metaphors is not one of the faults of the author's writing, but the author deliberately did it. The purpose is to explain "art, can it contain rhetorical elements?" A large number of metaphors are piled up to describe the atrocities of seduction, and what readers see is the story of this metaphor piled up. Remove the skeleton of this rhetoric, what is left? If we see this story without rhetoric (from another point of view, it is similar to the content of newspaper news), can we still get the feeling of "pain and quickness" from the story? The answer is probablyno. At this time, all that remains is "pain". So what is this established metaphor, rhetoric and art? Obviously, this is what the so-called rhetoric of whitewashing atrocities means.
In addition, the article is not limited to Fang Siqi. Literature and art are what Fang Siqi looks like when she grows up. However, even if Fang Siqi is not crazy, is the domestic violence life after literary marriage Fang Siqi's married life? This makes people think. So if this is still the case. Then the content of this novel is not limited to analyzing the proposition of "whether art is clever or not" through seduction, but also implies a kind of sympathy for women who are not socialized, gain beauty from books and gain life experience, and the bullying of such women by society. The author is familiar with Woolf's writing. From this point of view, there is a little Woolf's thought. That's what the so-called "Mrs. Dalloway wants to sell flowers herself" means. But some of Woolf's metaphors are subtle. From this point of view, this book inevitably has Woolf's influence.
Besides, in Angela's Ashes and herta mueller's Heart and Beast, dialogues are often without quotation marks. From this point of view, Fang Siqi's First Love Paradise also draws lessons from this technique. Moreover, the author is familiar with the works of these people, and it can be said that there are traces of these works.
The rhetoric of the article is also worth mentioning, which those "her face is like a red apple" can't imitate. There are many subtle metaphors in this book. Just a few examples:
In short, everything can enter rhetoric and find a subtle connection between two completely unrelated things at first glance. Black and bright? People's sense of existence and Polaris in the city? Drink coffee like a bird with flowers in its mouth? Marshmallows and hugs? A metaphor as subtle as a poem. Just like a sentence in "Pillow Grass": "The things near and far are: the pure land of bliss, the distance of the boat, between men and women." The degree of subtlety is similar to this. However, this level is not achieved out of thin air. According to the author's own words, she usually digests a book in two days; Read 200 pages of novels every day (certainly not online novels); Memorizing dictionaries is not an equal of my generation, but that kind of concentration in learning can be learned.
The postscript of the article is like an essay, which is full of nostalgia and poetry, and even uses a gypsy allusion-divination with coffee grounds (probably from The Unbearable Lightness of Life). To some extent, reading the postscript is more fun than reading the novel text.
What worries me most is that this book will be forgotten by the market in ten years. The new book wave after wave, mysterious and pale stories attracted groups of people. I once read a friend's so-called latest bestseller. Let's call it XX here. Anyway, its name is two words. I looked through it. It was a collection of short stories. The story looks good, but it is actually a simple mess, which can be said to be a modern version of chicken soup for the soul. However, the price is expensive. I can't help but doubt the author's reading, writing conception and thinking depth. However, I believe that time will eliminate these words. In this regard, I only hope that Fang Siqi's First Love Paradise can be known and read by more people. As literature and art say, let them know that there is such a back in this world.
