Do wizards really exist?

Magicians are often mentioned in European and American folklore, fantasy literature, desktop and video games, referring to people who can drive some mysterious force. Witches have many names. We can call them wizards, witches, wizards, fortune tellers, prophets and so on. In many environments (the environment here refers to the background settings used in legends, fantasy literature and games), the definition of "wizard" is different.
