00 1 Competitiveness of Introverts Quiet: the power of introverts

Silence: the power of introverts in a world that keeps talking.

The competitive Susan Kane with introverted personality

Everyone who is introverted should read this book. Susan Kane brings together leading research results in psychology, neuroscience, life stories and some suggestions from introverts.

First of all, introversion is not a problem. Due to the extroverted cooperative culture, business and finance have become excessively competitive and neglected risks. Secondly, introversion has a genetic and physiological basis, and people can't "walk out of their shell". Finally, even the most introverted person can expand her social occasions through practice, if that is consistent with her core values. This is by no means a complete summary.

Confucius said, "If you talk less and regret less, you will get something." Laozi said, "It is better to keep the center than to talk."

However, I don't know when it started, perhaps because of the influence of western culture, we advocate extroversion and performance more and more. In all kinds of children's talent competitions, from Weibo, Tik Tok, network celebrities to corporate culture group building, "beauty" is active, and the interpersonal culture displayed has almost become the mainstream. In her book, Susan describes the Confucian cultural circle in East Asia as an ideal environment for introverts, but this may not be the case.

If you are an introvert, reading is highly recommended. This will be a book about self-discovery. The author combines the latest research in psychology and neurology, the true stories of introverts from all walks of life, and practical suggestions.

Ps: I read the original English version, and the abstract is my own wild translation, which may be inconsistent with the Chinese version.

P.S. 2: Although I haven't seen the Chinese version, I seriously doubt the translation level. This Chinese title doesn't understand the contents of the book at all. One chapter in the book clearly states that one of the differences between introverts and extroverts is that introverts prefer cooperation and avoid conflicts, while extroverts prefer competition. As a result, the title of the book was actually translated into "The Competitiveness of Introverted Personality", which really made people speechless and vomiting blood. Personally, I think it is better to translate it into silence: introverted power in a complex world.
