Master Hui Guang answered: One day the temple will be expanded and a precious ginkgo tree will need to be transplanted to other places. The abbot ordered his two disciples to do it and then report back. The two men came to the tree and began to dig and move it, but just a few times after digging, one young monk said to the other, "Brother, the handle of my pickaxe is broken." You wait, I'll fix it first and then dig. " My brother advised him to remove the tree before repairing it. He said, "How is that possible? How long does it take to dig with such a pick? So the young monk went to the carpenter and borrowed an axe. The carpenter said, "Unfortunately, my axe broke down yesterday. Let me repair it with a kitchen knife. " The young monk said, "That won't do. Repairing with a knife is too slow and terrible. Let me go to the blacksmith to repair your axe. The young monk went to another village with an axe to find a blacksmith. The blacksmith said to him with a wry smile, "I just ran out of charcoal." You see ... "The young monk put down his axe and went to the mountain to find a charcoal burner. The charcoal burner said to him, "I haven't burned charcoal for many days, because I can't find an ox cart to transport wood here." The young monk went to find a rickshaw driver who specializes in transporting wood. The driver said, "Look, my cow is sick ..."

A few days later, when the monks asked around and found the young monk, he was rushing from a market town to a chariot-style village with several bags of herbs. People asked him why he bought medicine. He said he was treating cows and asked him what he was doing. He said he would use ox carts to transport wood ... and dig trees. He has forgotten all about it. In our life, everyone will encounter or experience such a thing. Seriously busy, working hard, until finally I heard someone ask "What are you doing", but I didn't know how to answer, because in the constant transformation of goals, the original goals have gradually blurred or even disappeared.

In the process of life, that "initial goal" is our precious self-the meaning and foundation of life. If we abandon it, we can only wander around the world like an empty shell. No matter how many difficulties and twists and turns you encounter, no matter how far you go, you can't forget the road you have traveled. Don't forget where you came from and live in the present. This is the meaning of "always keep the original heart".
