True Hero is an action movie directed by Du Qifeng, written by Stuart Jinyuan and Qiu Naihai, starring Liu Qingyun and Liming. The film tells the sad story of two gang leaders, Jack and Qiu, who are both enemies and friends. They were chased by the society, lost their love, and resolutely took revenge on the two bosses who violated morality. The film was released in Hong Kong on September 30th, 1998.

Compared with Sir Du's early classic "Gunfire", "True Hero" is the first film to establish its Jianghu style. The focus of this film is to describe the mutual pity and resistance of the protagonist in the rivers and lakes. These are the stories commonly used by Sir Du in the future, with a strong Du-style fatalism, aestheticism, violence, concealment and ugliness of human nature.

The film begins with a bottle of red wine that says "Brother Jack/Brother Qiu".
