Rudong custom is a collection of local customs. According to the season, it is briefly described as follows:

Spring Festival. The first day of the first lunar month, commonly known as "New Year". On the morning of the Spring Festival, people usually set off firecrackers, have a "reunion dinner" and say "congratulations" to each other when they meet. On the second day of the first month, New Year's greetings began. All localities beat gongs and drums to express condolences to the families of the martyrs. People visit relatives and friends for New Year's wine.

Tomb-Sweeping Day. There was a custom of ancestor worship in ancient times. Schools and other units and organizations organized a memorial service to sweep the tombs of martyrs in Tomb-Sweeping Day to remember the revolutionary martyrs.

Long summer festival. People usually eat sugar cookies, beets and boiled eggs. Wash mosquito nets, and the children weigh themselves.

Dragon Boat Festival. Every family eats zongzi, sticks calamus and moxa sticks under the eaves to drive away evil spirits, and indoor wine realgar wine drives away five poisons (snakes, insects, centipedes, ants, mosquitoes and flies).
