This temple is a famous thousand-year-old temple in South China. It is one of the national key Buddhist temples identified by the State Council in 1983 and the seventh batch of national key cultural relics protection units. Founded in the reign of Emperor Yangdi (6 18-6 19), it was originally named Fukenji, also known as Tianzhu Temple, commonly known as Kannonji.

According to legend, in ancient times, there was a huge camphor tree in the local area, which covered the ground with shade and gave birth to light at night. At that time, people worshipped it. In the Eastern Han Dynasty, Sha Yi, a monk, thought it was a unique tree, so he asked craftsmen to carve it into a Guanyin Bodhisattva with thousands of eyes. During the reign of Emperor Yangdi (6 18-6 19), a temple was built for sacrifice. It will be rebuilt in the third year tomorrow (1623).

This temple has a history of more than 1000 years and is widely spread. Since the Tang and Song Dynasties, the incense of Longshan Temple has spread overseas with the footsteps of Anping merchants. Especially in Southeast Asia and Taiwan Province Province, there are more than 200 temples with the same name in Taiwan Province Province alone, the most famous of which are Longgang Longshan Temple and Taipei Maolongshan Temple. temple

There is a hollow moon pool in front, and the gate is a stone archway, engraved with the four characters "Tianzhu Brahma Bell". When entering the mountain gate, I saw a big stone tablet embedded in the front wall of the temple, engraved with "Longshan Treasure Land". There are bell and drum towers on both sides, a pair of stone lions and a pair of stone drums in front of the main porch, and a wooden plaque with "Ciyun" hanging on the door. There is a courtyard and an altar in the gate, and there is a pavilion on the altar.

Daxiong Hall is resplendent and beautifully carved, with stone carving, porcelain carving and painting all over the place. One pair of stone dragon pillars, flying freely, is exquisite in craftsmanship. Each dragon claw grabs a drum and runs out. The sound of drumming and running out is ingenious and magical. There is a Buddha statue with thousands of hands and eyes in the temple, which is made of giant wood carvings and is 4.2 meters high. The Buddha wears a crown with many heads carved on it. The Buddha's face is rich and kind, and his hands are folded on his chest. There are 1008 hands on both sides of the Buddha's body, such as wings, which are patchy and have different postures. Each hand carries a bracelet, each hand carves an eye, or holds a book and utensils, and the carving is exquisite. The Buddha statue is covered with pure gold foil, golden and elegant, and it is a rare treasure. Inside the temple, there is a "Yi Tong inkstone" inscribed by Zhang Ruitu, a calligrapher in the Ming Dynasty, and Mo Bao, a famous person such as Zhuang in the Ming Dynasty and a modern master.
